Hello everyone , today i will be posting some Scientific explanation on the popular English proverbs " An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away"
What was the origin of this saying ?
According to several source i have read, the origin is believed to be from Wales, a country in Great Britain. The first recorded use of this proverb is said to be in the 1860s. It is written, for instance, in a publication called Notes and Queries from 1866.
The English version of this phrase had an earlier form that went like this: "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread." The later version that is commonly heard today seemed to take hold sometime during the early 20th century. For example, the later version of the saying is written in The Country Gentleman, 1913:
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away." That is said to be where it really began and up until now is still popular.
But the question is how does eating apple keeps the doctor away?

We are very curious on what are the effect of eating apple everyday to our body, right? With several study and researched made, nutritionists say there is some truth in the assertion - and believe that eating just one apple or pear daily could half the risk of having diseases and illness.
Essentially we are always taught by our parents and in school that eating fruit daily promoted good health. But is there any truth to it?
Hmm, interesting right?But we all know the fact that eating nutritious food helps keep you healthy. If you're looking for a nutritious food, apples are a good place to start. Research over the past few decades has shown that apples are indeed a very healthy snack.
Plus the fact that many of us don't enjoy going to the doctor. That's probably because they're usually not feeling well when they go, do you agree? Nutritionist would always tells us diet to improved our diet, work together on a plan to ensure we are eating enough nutritious foods.
But What's with Apple is very powerful?

Apple is what we all need providing the fact that it is low in calories and sodium and having no fat and cholesterol, apples are sweet to eat and boast a wide variety of health benefits. Apples are good sources of vitamin A, which strengthens vision and bone development, and vitamin C, which boosts the immune system.
These are the following nutrients we can get with just eating one Apple:
Vitamin C - a powerful natural antioxidant capable of blocking some of the damage caused by free radicals, as well as boosting the body's resistance against infectious agents, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
B-complex vitamins (riboflavin, thiamin, and vitamin B-6) - these vitamins are key in maintaining red blood cells and the nervous system in good health.
Dietary fiber - the British National Health Service says that a diet high in fiber can help prevent the development of certain diseases and may help prevent the amount of bad cholesterol in your blood from rising.
Phytonutrients - apples are rich in polyphenolic compounds". These phytonutrients help protect the body from the detrimental effects of free radicals.
Minerals such as calcium, potassium, and phosphorus.
What is Phytonutrients?
According to Dictionary.com it is a substance found in certain plants which is believed to be beneficial to human health and help prevent various diseases.
Apple is one of the fruits that is very abundant with Phytonutrients and these are the following we can find.

phloridzin - Flavonols
