FBI Uses Hacking Tactics to Pursue Cybercriminals
Adapt, overcome and conquer! Congrats to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who employed creative methods to track down cybercriminals by using tools and techniques normally reserved for attackers. By creating a fake website and reconfiguring office document settings, they explored avenues to uncover criminals network addresses which are intentionally hidden to remain anonymous. Such tactics are necessary in our digital world for law enforcement to put the required pressure on fraudsters to both interdict and deter crime.

It probably would have prevented many crimes had they came up with this tactic years ago.But better late than never!
Interesting, does this scare you at all?
Nope! All is fair in taking down criminals (I don't like cybercrime). Well, maybe not all. But spoofing a website that only criminals will be using, is a great tactic.
