Reviewing Speaker Sessions for the SIA Education@ISC West Conference

With outstanding content, topics, speakers, workshops, and panels, attendees at the 2020 ISC West conference will have plenty of great learning options!   

As an advisory board member for SIA Education@ISC West, one of my coveted tasks is to review and rank speaking proposals for the upcoming conference. Every year SIA Education has strengthened its reputation of educational leadership by composing an agenda of distinguished information sessions without product peddling.  Attendees expect the highest caliber of experts discussing relevant topics, challenges, opportunities, and recommendations without having to suffer through the dreaded sales-pitch.    

This week it was my pleasure to review 47 outstanding cybersecurity related speaker submissions. This year was the toughest yet to rate such a great collection of potential topics and presenters.   

Assessing so many proposals may sound like a grind, but I see it as hugely important. The ISC West conference is a premier conference in the security industry. SIA Education delivers top vendor agnostic security and network training to the community. What sessions are offered and what topics are covered help dictate where the industry will invest and focus on in the future.    

As a cybersecurity strategist I play a part, as part of the advisory board, to help decide which proposals will make the cut. This influences the ecosystem to converge on the most relevant aspects and opportunities. I am honored to be a part of this strategic process.   

As a former keynote speaker at the conference, ISC West holds a special place in my heart. ISC West is one of the largest security and safety conferences in North America, showcasing over 1000 exhibits and bringing in 20k attendees. The event is also one of the best organized in the industry, delivers excellent content, and brings in a truly outstanding community of professionals. Every year they pull together an impressive conference on a massive scale. The floor exhibitions and session speakers go the extra mile to connect with audiences, showcase innovative solutions, and deliver valuable insights.    

SIA Education rounds out the conference by bringing in thought leaders for audiences to learn and train. Based upon the cyber related proposals I have seen thus far, 2020 is shaping up to be another great year!
