Hingemates, adding security to door hinges
If you have locked doors with hinges facing out, there is an easy way for people to break in. By removing the pin to the hinges you can easily and quietly remove the door.. no need to pick the lock or anything. Just a screw driver to knock out the hinge.
A product called Hingemates is a solution to this security issue. By installing in the frame of the door and drilling a hole for the pin to pass into, the door can no longer be removed by just removing the hinge pin.
With the door closed the pin fits into the door and with three of these pins, one at each hinge the door becomes one with the frame.
These parts are cheap, and can be found on Amazon or Ebay.
I did notice the door has a little more resistance when closing it.. probably due to me not perfectly lining up the drill hole with the hingemate. But when it closes it feels alot more secure.

In Cyprus this is the way the doors are set.

Yes, that's why it really surprised me!
The bulb of cyclamen was not visible, probably it grows under a stone.
You might wanna also check out the Door Devil. I used to work for a company that manufactured their parts, and they're badass door security kits that are almost impenetrable.
