Get comfortable, drop your shoulders, take a deep breath, become fully present, close your eyes and listen.

‪I call your parents your First Gods. After all they taught you their version of right and wrong, good and bad. They downloaded everything they knew into your little mind. You believed them, without a doubt, at first. They are your creators after all, it’s not until later that you realize they were just winging it. ‬
‪•‬
For most of us our parents were not as concerned with us being ourselves as they were us acting the “right” way. Or their version of that anyway! We believed our parents! We believed everything they said, at first. Remember when you were a child and a friend would tell a story and to validate it they said “My mom told me.” You didn’t even question it because a parent (First God) had said it was true.
‪•‬
‪So if you are reading this I am going to assume you are old enough to know not everything your parents said was true. That’s an understatement right? They shared “their truth” not “the truth”. It’s what they had to give you in order to help you navigate this world. Most of them did the best with what they had.‬
‪•‬
‪Now I want you to think about what your parents said about you. How did they speak of you? To you and to others? What did they call you? What words did they use? How did they respond to you? This was true for them but it was not the truth. It’s time to see all they taught you for what it really was. It’s time to rewrite the story of yourself using your truth, not theirs!‬ Are you allowed to be yourself? - Daily Inspiration
