5 Things that I think will happen in Game of Thrones Season 8.

in #series5 years ago (edited)

Today begins the last season of Game of Thrones, one of the most important series of recent years, one of the biggest television events today, and although I'm not sure I doubt that another series has the media coverage of Game of Thrones.

In fact, a new series about the Game of Thrones universe, a prequel, in which Naomi Watts will participate, has already been announced. Which means that the biggest fans of the series will soon have an opportunity to continue the fantasy created by George R. R. Martin but from another moment in story.

But the main reason why I write this post, is to leave written some things that I think will happen, and in the end, check if my predictions are fulfilled.

One of the most anticipated events not only for me but for the whole audience is the confrontation between The Hound and The Mountain, the rivalry of the Clegane brothers is one of the most complete rivalries in the series, because the problems between the two have a high emotional content, but at the same time, a violent resolution, which promises to become a spectacle for the audience.

Sandor previously told Gregor that he will kill him the next time they meet, which we all expect to happen, however, the confrontation between the two has a point in favor and one against, the current Gregor is the fruit of a experiment, I do not know if he has enough consciousness, so the emotional factor decreases, but on the other hand, now seems more dangerous than ever, almost unbendable, so it will be very interesting and probably spectacular to see how Sandor faces him.

Jon Snow, like Beric Dondarrion, with the help of Melisandre was revived by R'hllor, The Lord of Light, in this way, as in chess where a pawn can be promoted by a queen, Jon died as a member of Night's Watch and revived to become the King in the North, and then lead an army against The Night King. However, I think that once Jon meets R'hllor's goal, he will not live long.

What I think will happen is that with the death of Jon Snow, Daenerys, who will survive the war against the White Walkers and against Cersei, will be in a position to take the Iron Throne for herself, however, being faithful to her philosophy will break the wheel, and she will decide to create a kind of council, republic or senate, instead of ruling with absolute power, and in this way the evolution of the character would be completed.

Arya has several names on her list waiting to be crossed out; Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, Melisandre, The Mountain, The Hound, Ilyn Payne and Cersei Lannister.

The first four do not have great emotional weight, since three of them are on the list due to their participation in the kidnapping of Gendry, who is currently alive, and taking into account that everyone is making an effort together in the war against The Night King, I doubt that Arya decides to kill any of them, although there is a possibility that Arya murders Melisandre.

On the other hand, Arya does have strong motives to kill The Hound, Ilyn Payne and Cersei, the first one to kill the butcher's son, Mycah, who was Arya's friend, and the last two for being involved in the murder by Ned Stark. However, Arya was some time with The Hound, and it seems that she lost most of her grudge against him, and considering that he will probably fight The Mountain, it is possible that Arya will let him live.

The last ones in the list, Ilyn Payne and Cersei Lannister, not only have high probabilities of dying this season, but the probability that Arya ends their lives is very great, especially in the case of Ilyn Payne. However, that Arya takes revenge on him is insufficient, she needs something more important, and I believe that while King's Landing is besieged by the northern army that retreats against the White Walkers, Arya will use the secret runners that she discovered in the first season, to get to Cersei, while she uses the face of another person, probably Jaime Lannister, and kills her while revealing her true identity. Winter is coming!

I know it sounds repetitive, but according to rumors, Tyrion would have a new trial, this time without the possibility of fighting, especially if the law imposed by Tommen Baratheon that prohibits trials by combat is still valid. On the two previous occasions, he was the victim of false accusations, and in one way or another, condemned or not, he managed to live, however, on this occasion he would be accused of a crime that he committed and that would be discovered with the help of Bran. This time, without the possibility of being saved by his brother or Bronn, Tyrion would die.

Well, that's all. What do you think about it? Do you think any of this will happen? Do you have any specific predictions about this season? Who will take the Iron Throne?
