“I’m sorry. It was just my fear for her, I…” I do not know why, but I began to cry. I am told that a number of us cried that night. I think it was all too sudden, this change from the agony of trying to get our Robert back to actually having him in our arms and feeling his warm heart filled with love for us.

For the kids and grandkids who are reading this, I’m sorry, I am not Robert, I cannot describe our love scenes. All I will say is that I could not get enough of the scent of him, the solid feel of his warm skin against mine and we made very good use of all the hours that were available to us. Cherine obeyed Robert and still it was almost too much to bear. The feeling of Robert against ’my’ skin another fifteen times, it blew me out of my mind. The feelings in his many bodies and minds as he loved us, the joy he took in each body, in each and every centimetre of those beloved bodies, even the joy he took in my more mature body, it was all too much.

I do not understand how he was able to cope with his own feelings multiplied so many times. As for Candy and Irene, he was at his most tender and the sweetness brought back memories that were bittersweet, poignant and precious beyond words. Within hours he had wiped away all memories of our pain and grief and refreshed our hearts, giving us back all that I feared our precious girls had lost. Robert my love, if there is a craziness in you it is the craziness of a gift for giving love far beyond anything a woman could dream of. Those you love are made pure and sweet by your love and the tenderness of your heart. There is only one person I grieve for, sorrow that she cannot feel the magic in you. I dream of the day your love is able to touch her heart and bring our Ulya, our lovely fair Ukrainian maiden into our circle.

Since Cherine and I first joined our Robert, I think this was the first time ever that not one of us saw another one of us for over a full day without our missing such contact. We were all too busy drowning ourselves in the love he gave and in the sensual pleasures he constantly re-ignited in our bodies. We each had our day of heaven and all else was forgotten.

Even after we lost our Roberts, we slept in our beds that were still warm with the scents of him. I do not know how he managed it, but he did not gather himself into one body in the bed of one of us. He did so in the lounge, not one of him disappeared from the bed of love he was in, so there was no way any of us could feel that they had not had the real Robert. I regret only one thing, at such a time of loving I should have asked to have our second child.

Chapter Ninety Two

The whole house has come alive. On awakening Robert called all of us to a meeting after breakfast.

“I have decided that none of you need go to school anymore. I will explain why and then I will leave it to each of you to decide. First of all we should start with the advantages of your attending school.

By going to school you should meet other children and make new friends. As you live the problems they face you should be opening your hearts to them. I have noticed though that you have all been throwing away the opportunity and have been keeping each other company. Even to the point where the older ones are teased for preferring the company of the younger ones.

Let’s discuss the education you receive. The advantage could be seen to be the pieces of paper you will get when you finish your university studies. To compete in the world of Normals and do better than they do, is satisfying but meaningless. If you studied properly, the way you should, you could tackle the subjects you are interested in and complete the courses within one to two years, depending on the subject.

You all suffer one terrible disadvantage. The difference in your ages with me. You may be younger, some of you may be my daughters. but you are all also my wives. I often disregard the last and concentrate on your ages. This is good in many ways, but is also wrong in some.

Due to my age and my upbringing I tend to be blinkered in my attitudes. Your going to school was one of them. I can see you are all wondering what has come over me, maybe you are wondering if I have been affected by the damage I did to myself these last few months.” He grinned at us, taking the sting out of his words. “Who amongst you know anything about brainwaves?”

“I know that our brainwaves change when we sleep or dream.”

“That’s right, Dommi. We need not discuss all the brainwaves, just those that affect your learning. The normal human spends most of their time in Beta. When they are totally relaxed or being creative they are in Alpha.” He explained how school forces children to use their Beta brainwaves, teaching by repetition. He then explained that Alpha brainwaves make it easier for us to learn and absorb what we have learnt.

“All infants learn while in Alpha. Take a young toddler. It is born with certain instincts, such as suckling, blinking of the eyes and so on; there are a tremendous number of things it has to learn though. Walking for instance. It has to learn the art of balancing itself. Babies start off by crawling on their stomachs, they reach the point where they crawl on hands and knees and then they start to raise themselves, trying to stand on their feet. If they were in Beta, they would be analysing what they are doing. After a number of attempts they would get discouraged. In Alpha level they do not analyse, they just try until they succeed.

Thanks to Claudia we sometimes watch some sports, mostly tennis. You will have noticed that the top players have days when everything flows their way, every shot across the net seems to be perfect and they find themselves in the right spot for the return of service. At other times they struggle to get things right.

When things are flowing they are using Alpha, they do not need to think about every move, they are acting instinctively, their arm aims the racquet in the correct direction at the correct angle, speed and with the exact power needed. On their off days they are in Beta; they are trying to analyse how they should hit the ball, at what angle to put the spin, where they should be for the return.

I bet you are all wondering what brought this on, why my sudden keen interest in brainwaves. I have known the above for a long time, but, like most people, never applied it to my life. Fortunately I began to wonder about our gifts. How is it that we are able to open those doors in our minds. Somewhere along the line I correlated our spurts of growth with our attitudes. I saw that as one of us acquired a new gift and passed it on, the rest of us would calm our minds, going into Alpha, so as to learn. Not Beta which analyses and tries to understand, but into Alpha which allows us to learn free of our conscious mind.

My loves, if you can acquire these amazing gifts by using Alpha, what could you learn by using it for your studies? You each have your own computer with a fast connection to the internet. You have encyclopaedias, atlases and a world of information at your fingertips. We may need a bit of help in organising what and how you study, but even on our own we can do far better than the schools. I am going to ask Themi to find people to assist us in organising ourselves and we all go to school,” he smiled, “yes, that includes me. We set apart our time for studying - studying means learning something we did not know or understand before. Grow in any direction you want my loves, just remember to include general topics that round you off - no point in knowing everything about the subject of your choice and nothing about everything else; god but you would be boring if you did so!”

We laughed, but there was a buzz in the air, we were all excited and eager to try this out. He showed us how we normally slip into Alpha, made us do so and told us to make note of how it feels. He asked that we always do so before our studies - and not to worry if we find ourselves in Beta as this can happen when we get excited about what we are learning. He told us to use that excitement and then to revert to Alpha and go over what we learnt again, fixing it in our minds.

If he is right, and I trust Roberto, he would not send us off in this direction at a whim, then our lives are about to change. Even I could begin to study again and grow. I have often felt some regret that I had not continued my studies by going to university.

Themi got interested in the potential, agreeing that he knows all this has been verified, but he said it has only been put into effect, organised in a way to help people, by certain individuals who then sell this knowledge in courses that are costly. He decided to present it as a project at the university. He asked of his students that they work out how such an education should be organised by a student studying in Alpha on his own. He assured us we will be astounded by the ideas and original perspectives their young minds will come up with.

Robert has been spending more time with Ulya. We were all pleased to feel a friendship grow between them. He is careful to touch her as rarely as possible and any jokes he makes are never of a sexual nature. He showed her a picture of the moon and the picture was titled “Ukrainian moon’. He did this deliberately so as to sense her homesickness. He made a point of taking her thereafter on walks through Odessa, buying her the delicacies she loves and magazines and books she wants. Sometimes some of us go with, but our curiosity was soon satisfied. Whatever the city may have been in the days of the USSR, it now has little to offer us. That is, apart from the pleasures of shopping. Dollars stretch a very long way, especially if she does the shopping. Mostly though, to benefit from the low prices we have to buy goods made in the Ukraine. That did not leave us much of a choice.

To start off she was nervous and frightened that someone from her town may see her there and recognise her. Robert laughed it off, even claiming he looked forward to that happening. Since they could jump back instantly he claimed there was no danger. Still, I insisted he take the precaution of altering their features, which provided the extra benefit of it helping Ulya relax and enjoy her visits even more.

When it became obvious that she would continue to want to return there, he found someone to rent a tiny apartment for us, so that he can use it as a landing and departure point. The neighbours were a nosy bunch, though they were careful to keep their faces bland of all interest and I feared his sense of humour might end up causing a problem, but Ulya, with her practical little heart always saw to it that nothing went wrong.

He told me that he is finding it very difficult to refuse her anything, especially when she stares into his eyes. I think the circle would have snapped her in if she had only loved him too.

One day, after they had spent a day walking about the old parts of Athens, wandering into tiny shops that were below street level and buying a lot of weird junk, she decided to have an early night and after changing into her nightie she came to wish us a goodnight. She caught Robert by surprise when she leant over and kissed his cheek. She was in her room before he moved. He put his fingers to his cheek, but all he said was, “I need a shave.”

Niko is very careful not to tease Robert about Ulya or her daughter. Lucy is a real toddler and though she has grown to love us all, she has not been taken into our circle. I think Robert is holding back, not wanting to alienate Ulya. None of us mind too much, as we have a sample of her tissue and know that if anything happens, we can bring her back.

By now the Sparklers are able to identify who comes from our home and Solomon has taken a look at the souls of Ulya and Lucy so there is no way the void would get them. We pressed Robert to do something about getting tissue from Ulya. He was afraid to ask her and did not want to trick her. As usual it was Wendy who tackled her. She explained about the tissue and how we can create a new body for her if she dies, as the protector can bring her soul back. Being vaguely Russian Orthodox (the orphanage did not take them to church) she crossed herself, but agreed to let Robert take her to Dr Maria.

She slowly became more like a child of her age, walking and talking with Robert in a carefree manner. She also began to tease him deliberately in a sexual way. He was careful not to show the slightest interest which piqued her and she became more blatant, trying to tempt him so as to rebuff him. She still has not understood that we can see into her mind and emotions, so her games only help to reinforce the safety she is starting to feel around him.
