Not Of Our Blood

I read her words, too few, but that is how she was.

She? She is not our sister, though we dare not say so to pa. She was born of a different mother, and pa believed her when she told him the daughter is his. She handed her over when pa and ma married, saying it is not her job to care for the brat. Dwyn, my brother and I, we are certain she is not of our blood, for she is too different and there is something wrong with her. Like there was with her ma.

She told pa that Dwyn tried to have sex with her and pa hit Dwyn. I got between them, so pa stopped. Dwyn spoke up for himself and told pa that even if she wished it, he would never touch her, for she never bathes and her breath stinks, for she has never brushed her teeth.

“Stupid name, you speak again like that of your sister and I’ll kill you.” Mom chose his name, Dwyn, because she liked it. She said it sounded nice to her, but Pa said it sounds like he is sump oil. It used to make Dwyn mad when he said so, especially after mom died. Then I told him to think of himself as that special oil used for racing cars and now he makes jokes, insinuating he is fast and it drives pa into something of a temper, for he senses he is being laughed at.

This time pa had got in a few strong blows and Dwyn left home for a long walk, I thought, to calm himself. I was wrong. He returned that night to tell me he got a job and found a room to rent. He told me where to find him, took a few things, those mom had given him, and left.

Pa never asked me where Dwyn is. I could tell he is curious, but he refuses to name him and I refuse to answer any questions about ‘Stupid name’.

She? She tries to make my life miserable, but I only smile and it drives her crazy – crazier. Dwyn told me to make patience, as she is bound to disappear soon, for she thinks she can go to Hollywood and become a film star.

He was right, she is gone. And the best? Pa died a year later and now Dwyn lives with me again, for he says he is my big brother and must look after me. I like having a big brother, I do not understand all those girls who think different.

I found the above, the only page she wrote of her diary. I am not surprised, for she never liked talking of those days. I do not know how ‘she’ heard of her death, for she returned from Hollywood, with all her followers, managers or whatever, just to be at the funeral of my little sister. I nearly killed her when I saw a smile twitch on her face as she leant over the open coffin.

If it was not my clever little sister stopping me, I think I would have. But I cannot do anything that would have made her feel disappointed in me. I must prove she was right; that I am special.

She is Gone

No vote power left tonight, thoughts on this please, even if you reply on one of my old posts. https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/anna-soubry-tv-interview-video-police-action/

My first reaction?

If this happens to one of ours, then we are told that it is good that the people are free to express their dissatisfaction and we should take note of how we are not wanted by the people.

asking why the police did not protect her “from verbal & physical abuse from far right thugs outside Parliament this afternoon. It was shocking”.

Why would "Far Right thugs" call her a nazi? To them it would not be an insult...surely?

When it happened in the USA, with politicians and their families being accosted and insulted and even thretened in restaurants, top Democrat politicians, especially that ugly Waters b* insisted all people must do the same. I did not hear any criticisms of this from the British politicians or from BBC.

What is it we used to say? If it is good for the goose, then it is good for the gander - replace the sexual cconnotations of the saying with the different aspects of political ideologies...

In a way, it is odd how we can see the double standards being used, but because we were taught to be gentlemen towards females (despite the feminists trying so hard to kill it in us) we are still vulnerable to the charges of using our rights as males, if we are verbally attacking a female - who wants men to become obsolete/extinct - in other words, is our enemy and our survival demands we fight them.

You see the excuse my language here, mind fuck is in the UK? Hence why I LEFT.

It is just as bad in the USA and all the countries where leftists are trying to destroy the nation and their history. We just feel it more keenly in the UK because we care more about it.

I've been watching the manoeuvres by parliament, so as to try and force the creation of a rule, to not allow a Hard Brexit. They'll win, because nobody wants to look at it hard on and face the need to fight against it.

If ALL Leavers sent the local reps of their Party a notice that if anything BUT a hard Brexit occurs, they will only vote for UKIP or For Britain, I bet not so many would be brave enough to vote against the people. But it is now a country of pussies, where even those who want to fight, prefer to do so in ways where anonymity is preserved and no risks are taken.

The best irony of all will be if they vote to remain and then, at the EU elections, the right-wingers (Italy, Hungary, Poland etc) win the majority. What will the TMay's and other traitors do? Do a Hard Brexit, despite any laws they have just voted in?

A real pity there were none with the foresight to kill all of the Fabian Society a few generations ago.

Their cookie notice is not normal, they want to be allowed to enter my device, as they put it, to see what interests me, so that they can personalise advertising.

Seeing as to how Huffington Post are so virulently against us, I do not feel comfortable giving them permission to share from me.

Maybe you can give me an idea of what the article says?

I like this story, you described all the characters very nicely and vividly in such short writing :).

Thanks. It also was a bit of an experiment for me, as I often feel that the names of the characters sometimes get in the way because people have images of what a name means, thanks to people they have met with that name. It is also why the name of the brother get emphasised.

Thank you for commenting, it means a lot.

Thank you very much for the 'award'; the fact that it is manually reviewed makes it all the more precious.

As for your witness - I have recently deleted most of my witness votes as I strongly feel that flagging is destroying our community and we are losing some of our very good members because of it (not that they are being flagged, but because they see it destroying what Steemit was growing into - a censor-free platform). I am not talking about scammers, but about members being flagged to death because those with big accounts have organised themselves to flag those they do not agree with, in total impunity.

I would need to know that the witness I support is not part of this flagging community. I hope you can reassure me, so that I can support your witness.

Thanks again...

I really like this short story :D You delivered so much context in so brief a fiction <3 The interdependencies and intricate relationships between the siblings are so well hinted at, and palpable. Beautiful!

Love it!

Thank you and I love that you explained why you enjoyed it.

Normally I am wary of having spiders around, especially if they are jumping spiders, but you are welcome to visit my posts, whenever you wish.

PS - took a look at your home page (as you've noticed, I'm sure), but when I went to click on Follow, I found I had done so...but I do not remember when. So, have to now say, glad I re-found you.

:)

Your name reminded me of a time when I was living in a town that literally seemed to crawl with spiders of every type. So I sat down and wrote a story (for my characters in my book) about a telepathic spider visiting me...hmmm...maybe that was not a good story to be mentioning, as it had a tragic end.
