Shadow Rank Explanation
Many people mistakenly think every week everyone gets a Shadow Rank boost. This is no longer true. Although every week in the past we did just bump everyone up, we are not adding any new bumps until #ElysianFields rolls out. The reasons may not make sense at first but there are 2 reasons:
Increasing everyone's rank at the same time messes up the FVL and SD. This means although your rank goes up, you actually may earn less.. Not the design of our system!
Our new release will fairly allocate based on our new abuse and report system as well as other indicators as to how a member is doing. This new system will ensure abusers are more quickly reduced automatically while good steemians are boosted!
Our goal is not to ever punish good casters! We are a community of steemians working hard together to learn and earn! But to ensure that we all are playing fair, and are fairly rewarded, we had to make an adjustment to the system.
From now on, earning your Shadow Rank will be calculated every time we detect new information about your account. We will weight the information so that newer information is more important than prior. This means if you continue to do great, as we know you all do, you will see MORE rank increase than you did in the past. HOWEVER, to the few who do try to abuse our community, these changes will make it nearly impossible for you to earn any rank and may even REDUCE your rank.
We are VERY cautious of reducing someone's rank, especially through an automated means, but we have over the past 9 months learned enough to be able to begin implementing these policies and systems!

So if I understand correctly, the rank adjustments(up or down) will not happen once a week, but more of an on fly adjustment as our information changes?
Correct, we are working on a white (shadow) paper that will EXACTLY explain the intention of our system. The idea of Shadow Rank is not to just keep going up for ever, but rather be a way for us to balance our members. The original concept called for Shadow Rank to go up AND down based on the RELATIVE performance of each Caster in the pool. We will be releasing a full Shadow Paper (white paper) that will explain EVERY last detail of what we are and what we are becoming before the release of #ElysianFields!

We will have a release date soon but we are still heavily developing and can't officially announce a date just yet.

Why am i not getting votes for months? Shadowbot stopped working?
The dashboard has been broken/laggy for a few weeks now. Unfortunately our development team had to make a choice, either continue fixing the old broken dashboard, or get the new system up and running. We opted to get the new system running instead. ShadowBot is voting, following, and claiming rewards for all members still automatically, however, the dashboard will not display most of this information. It is a front end, dashboard issue, NOT a back end, core system issue.
