Blockshipping — when the global container shipping industry meets blockchain technology

The international shipping industry is responsible for the carriage of around 90% of world trade. Today, over 50 thousand merchant ships, carrying a wide variety of goods of all sizes and weights, are cruising the world. With the development of ports, ships, roads - sea transportation has improved and become an integral part of the world economy. However, this industry is complex and requires complicated logistical solutions.

Blockshipping's Global Shared Container Platform (GSCP) is designed to solve some of the most important problems in the container shipping industry today. The main purpose of the GSCP platform is to provide a complete blockchain enabled container asset registry. In other words, this is a global inventory of containers (which is more than 27 million units) with access to the location of each container all over the world.

The main strategic goals for the GSCP platform:

• Become the primary registry and operational payments platform for the global container fleet;
• Achieve 60% market coverage with 16 million container units in the GSCP blockchain registry;
• Become the leading solution for managing operational payments clearing between stakeholders related to physical handling, haulage and sharing of containers;

GSCP issues two tokens: an internal utility token - Container Platform Token (CPT) - for clearing and settlement of transactions on the platform; and an external Ethereum based token called Container Crypto Coin (or CCC, for the public market). The CCC model will have a unique set of features. These will include a Revenue Sharing Model to reward the buyers of the CCC by sharing part of the gross revenue of the GSCP platform. Market Maker Fund will help to support the stability of the price of CCC before the first launch of the platform in release 1.0.
