The Story Behind Anti Addiction Feature on Android P

in #smartphone6 years ago

San Francisco - Android P and its features have been explicitly described in the Google I / O 2018 event in Mountain View, California. Certainly many interesting stories behind the birth of this greenest robot operating system.

As reported, Android P has 3 philosophies. That is intelligence or intelligence, simplicity or simplicity and digital wellbeing or call it digital health.

Digital wellbeing is arguably very interesting, because this is the first time Google buried some anti-addiction features in the operating system. Apparently many mobile phone users are worried they are too much to use the device.

"Smartphones are increasingly taking over our lives so we feel responsible. We hear how people use technology," said Sameer Samat, Vice President of Product Management Google in a conversation with the media including detikINET.

"In last year's research, it seems that users want to balance, technology makes them far from life, and because we use technology very much, we understand this," he added.

That's what makes Google decided to immerse some features on Android P, which can reduce the dependence of people on the phone.

First Android Dashboard, users can see how much time to use the phone. Shown what application is the most widely used, how many times the user opened the phone and how many notifications received.

Then with App Timer, the user can set how long the application access time. If the specified time elapses, the app changes color to gray. It's still usable, but quite annoying and so a reminder to stop soon.
