A DAY AT THE BAY

My husband and I spent the day at Bellingham Bay. We hadn't been there in nearly 18+ years! That's a long time given we live about 25+ miles from the bay. We tend to spend most of the recreation time we have, hiking in the mountains near our home.

The first picture is of part of the bay where the water was fairly shallow as it was low tide. The seaweed that was growing there had this iridescent shimmer that my iPhone couldn't quite pick up. It was stunning, the way it shimmered in the early afternoon sun.

The Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad runs nearby, and as luck would have it, 2 different trains came by.

The trail that we went down to enter the park was nicely wooded, and when we came out of the woods, there was a railroad track, complete with a miniature version of a railroad crossing you would find on a road, but for the pedestrians there. I took a shot down the rails, and in the distance you can see the old stair access to the park that's been closed due to structural decay.

It was a beautiful day spent with my best friend, my husband. We have plans to go back very soon. 18+ years is too long to not visit someplace so nice and local to boot.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Have a nice day!
