CritDay Aims – Sndbox Incubator Cohort 2 003
CritDay's Aims
As the sole operator of CritDay it is easy to get lost in the day to day activities; re-posting work, writing emails, uploading posts to the website, etc. These activities are all important and have grown the community to what it is today however it is vital to step back and ask questions; why am I doing this? What impact does CritDay have? What are the aims for CritDay?
This post will set out the aims for CritDay, furthermore it will also set out the short term aims for what I would like to achieve as part of the Sndbox Incubator program.
Aims for CritDay
CritDay was started in 2015 with a simple aim; grow a community of architecture students to celebrate high quality work and architectural education. Since then this aim has set the foundation of the platform. All activities serve to meet this overarching principle.
The general aims for CritDay are as follows:
1. Share daily content
2. Stay relevant to architectural (and global) trends and set new trends
3. Act as a primary resource for architecture students (and practitioners)
4. Offer opportunities for architectural community to have direct involvement within CritDay
5. Inspire audience to question architecture and the impact it has on communities, individuals and the environment
6. Connect people (very general!)
These aims are ongoing and as CritDay continues to develop they are likely to evolve but ultimately they will follow the same trajectory.
Within each of the aims there are actions, targets, and sub-aims which breakdown the overall aim to support the growth and development of CritDay. Part of this development is the Sndbox Incubator, which can identify with most of these core aims.
Aims as part of Cohort 2
In addition to the general aims I have set out for CritDay above, Sndbox Cohort 2 members have been asked to set specific targets for the Incubator. The Incubator program is running for 4 months (and we are now well into the first month), therefore I feel it is important to set realistic and deliverable targets.
1. Increase dialogue within the Architectural community about Blockchain.
Why? As mentioned in the Hello Blockchain post there is little discuss regarding the impact of blockchain on architecture, let alone architectural education. This needs to change.
2.Explore what impact blockchain has had on architecture and design.
Why? Firstly to educate myself so I can share my finding with the CritDay followers and pass on the knowledge.
3. Explore what impact has blockchain had in general education.
Why? To see what principles could be adapted and applied to architectural education.
4. Develop CritDay’s offer to introduce blockchain technology/processes.
Why? This applies to several of the core aims.
5. Expand the CritDay audience on Steem.
Why? Pretty self explanatory!
6. Collaborate with like minded individuals and organisations through the blockchain network.
Why? To further extend the offer CritDay provides.

This is a great window looking forward @critday. Thank you for compiling this and for driving architectural discourse into the blockchain ecosystem. Content-driven DApps like Busy and Steemit are great avenues into it.
