Parodia Sanguiniflora Cactus Plant
The Parodia Sanguiniflora is a cactus plant which is native to South America but later today, I found it in the office and it was so nice! So let's have an overview of what is Parodia Sanguiniflora Cactus Plant.
The Parodia Sanguiniflora is a genus of flowering plants in the Cactaceae family which produces bright-red flowers in certain time. The diameter of this plant is most likely about 2 inches long and it can easily be dwarfed by those plants with abundant flowers. It typically has a spiral rib which is covered with fine, white, and bristly spines.
Its common synonyms are:
Acanthocephala Backeb., Brasilicactus Backeb., Brasiliparodia F.Ritter, Brasilocactus Fric (nom. inval.), Chrysocactus Y.Itô (nom. inval.), Dactylanthocactus Y.Itô, Eriocactus Backeb., Eriocephala Backeb. and Friesia Fric (nom. inval.)
Its habitat is usually solitary globose or cylindrical, up to 18 cm long and 19 cm wide.
This kind of plant likes to be in dry places especially during winter but loves water during summer.
I'm sure that the plant from the photo is Echinocactus grusonii! Not Parodia sanguiniflora.
It is for some time growing in place where is not enough sun so it has etiolated. ... Whole body should be look like the bottom part of the plant (look at the difference in spines) and should be in a shape of a ball, not columnar....
But if you want you still can save it. .. give it healthier life.

The best thing to do if you want to save this plant is to cut that columnar-wrong-grown part, and next spring place it on more sun , slowly increasing the strength of the sunlight. Then the new rounded heads will grow, and the plant will again be healthy and strong.
You can also leave it this way but that columnar part with weak spination will always stay it's weakness.
