This is what TALP (The Alexandria's Library Project) is and this is what we want to accomplish with this initiative.

The Alexandria’s Library Project

Before we explain what we plan to do, I will introduce our team coming from different countries and continents:

4. @maxiemoses-eu – Writing Quest, Nigeria,

We are a small team of unique combinations, therefore we inspire each other with ideas, so the maximum potential can be achieved. To complete step two of the final quest - Sndbox Summer Camp, we have designed an idea that we will realize if this project is approved. What we describe here is the result of our discussion. Each individual has given his creative ideas.

Project Background

Before the detailed explanation of our project plan, I should explain firstly about the background of this idea. This project is the development of my chosen idea in Sndbox Summer Camp - Project Development which is about making an Alexandria's Library on Steemit blockchain, in this modern era.

Alexandria's Library is a legendary library of its time. This library is a storehouse of knowledge and information about many things, especially philosophy, history, science, and literature. This library became an icon and the greatest symbol of human civilization at its time. Promoting Alexandria's Library certainly cannot be done by one or two people. A massive movement is needed to bring back the spirit of the ancient library of Egypt. We think promoting the #alexandriaslibrary and #sndbox-library tags will have a bigger impact on that desire.

This tag can be used for writings content related to philosophy, history, science and literature. The coverage of these areas seem to be lacking on Steemit. Many good articles are missed without getting a decent reward. In fact, in our observations, many Steemians become inactive due to the lack of appreciation they receive.

We certainly do not want to see how good work goes unnoticed. What we want is to work on that and then solve the problem.

Through the promotion of this tag, we also hope new stories and information related to various activities of literature in the world will appear. With time, Steemit will become a huge library space. In a different context, Alexandria's Library will be reborn in a distant time, where librarians are Steemit users around the world.

To consolidate a system of archived information in the STEEM blockchain that evokes what was supposed to be the majestic Library of Alexandria: the greatest storehouse of valuable knowledge in ancient times.

Writing contest

The second development we agreed to realize for this plan was to create a writing contest. The presence of the Steemit platform has given great energy to the creative process of individuals around the world. There are many contests that can be followed, for photography, traveling, food, architecture, and more. The contests have contributed greatly in promoting certain tags.

We think this is one of the useful tricks that can be used to introduce the tag #alexandrialibrary and #sndbox-library universally. The contest that we will organize will be using the local languages of each of our countries, so it can reach more users.

In this race, Steemians will be able to write various things related to the main topics, literature, history, philosophy, science. For example, posts about fascinating library profiles in their vicinity, library cafes, interesting book collections of certain libraries, and so forth. We will describe contest rules at a later time.

Account @alexandrias-lib

We have created an account with the name @alexandrias-lib to make it easy to curate each work. This account will be periodically posting related posts. It will be a referral place for users as well as @sndbox account. If possible, good writings will be promoted through the account.

Budgeting

Theoretically, we get 100 SBD from the founder @sndbox in this program. We try to manage that budget to the fullest. So that its use is faced only towards the target. For each continent, we will be choosing three winners. So the details are as follow:

American Continent:

1st place: 10 sbd.
2nd place: 7 sdb.
3rd place: 3 sbd.

European Continent:

1st place: 10 sbd.
2nd place: 7 sbd.
3rd place: 3 sbd.

African Continent:

1st place: 10 sbd.
2nd place: 7 sbd.
3rd place: 3 sbd.

Asian Continent:

1st place: 10 sbd.
2nd place: 7 sbd.
