Sndbox Summer Camp - Project Development - CELF. Steem-Powered Latin American Art and Culture

in #sndboxquest6 years ago (edited)

Mission

Our main objective is to facilitate the adoption of the Steemit social network and the Steem blockchain by the Latin American artistic community, and provide an ecosystem that allows the construction of a different paradigm in support of their development, that responds to the need to trascend according to the artist's purposes.

Problem

Real life-related Problems:

Today we have different networks and social platforms that facilitate independent artistic production. However, there is still a centralization in the art industry that influences and determines the tastes of the masses, based more on their own interests, than on the development of the artist and his culture.

This has led us to a social situation in which Latin American artists who do not have enough resources, shape their creative intentions by fulfilling a relationship of dependence with the industry and thus make their work profitable.

As a consequence, the motivation to create art based on individual needs in search of transcendence or improvement as a society, both intellectually and emotionally, is being lost. This leads to the loss of cultural value that we could contribute as artists to our community.

Steemit-related Problems:

There are several curatorship projects that coexist in the spanish speaking community on Steem, however most of them, with the exception of Cervantes and Reveur, do not have clear direction or funding to be viable, and sustainable in the medium and long term. The majority of the curatorship responsibility rests with Cervantes, who, due to the great and continuously growth of the Spanish-speaking community, find it increasingly difficult to reward or care 100% the high quality content.

Curatorship is a practice that works in art with the purpose of reflecting, analyzing and discussing about a work of art. In Steem the meaning of curatorship has been a bit distorted and a large part of the users who create content in Spanish do not know why they are or are not voted because there is no public criteria that establishes the voting standards.

The curator is in charge of the valuation, exhibition, maintenance and administration of the artistic assets, so, curatorship is not only that part of the "proof of brain" system that allows us to give an upvote, it is also to make use of the constructive criticism to contribute value to a post and promote a valuable interaction between the curator and the author.

There is no specialized curatorship within our community that takes into account the diversity and classification of content, i mean, Spanish-speaking curation projects that serve a specific market segment from the point of view of knowledge and experience on it.

These problems lead me to ask myself a question:

Can we contribute through Steem for the construction of a different artistic paradigm and impulse the voice of Latin American artists?

I believe that it is possible.

Solution

Art has worked as an important driver in the growth of Steem, since it has allowed different users to get a space where they can benefit economically through their contributions, these same users have brought great value to the platform, they make Steem a place where quality content is valued, which marks a different paradigm in the way of sharing artistic content on the Internet.

We believe that the greatest value we can bring to Steem and Steemit is not only in the curation of content (voting articles) but in the social curatorship, the curatorship that employ constructive criticism and education through the comments to add value to the contribution of the author, the unification of these two concepts (content curation + social curation) will allow us to achieve better results in the medium and long term regarding the quality of the content on Steem.

To achieve this we need a team of Artistic Curators who will take care of the following topics:

So, we also need a community that is responsible for contributing this content on Steem, guess what, we're already building it.

@cathyhaack, @heibert, @dreamsaboutcats, @gabyoraa, @hectgranate, @KBetancourtPhoto, @Osbell1, @regulogomez, @vadimlasca, @bartografia, @anavalecillos, @elcuentacuentos, @albertotang, @leopetitpp, @agnikana, @ailindigo, @alejandromata, @alileon, @aolivares, @breili, @cafeyarepas, @cre47iv3, @danvel, @dolivero, @fariasteem, @fran-mazz, @gracielaacevedo, @camiloferrua, @gracikuper, @hormigaobrera, @huesos, @jcalero, @jeanavila, @johannfrare, @julioccorderoc, @jwilhelm87, @kimbygrr, @kruznik, @lamorrocoya, @maastro, @micheniro, @poesiaempirica, @portafolioazul, @rafartista, @risckylu, @purapapita, @rjguerra, @wildermanjnm, @wilmarnm, @zaxan, @zuni, @adalbertodrums, @afroadrianv, @disclaimerhffmn, @ilazramusic, @joseacabrerav, @josezdrummer, @juandavidartal, @aidarojaswriter, @cesaralejandro, @moccamonica, @premmlinbass, @ramoncinibass, @roman.musica, @siomarasalmeron, @ylich, @valentinas23, @bharathi22, @jeilinespinel, @mariaesperanzai, @israleve, @alesstorb, @aolivares, @alteregophoto, @arrozymangophoto, @omardyp, @mijares, @chrisjares, @carlosadolfochac, @cathyhaack, @chiquibencomo, @damiansanchezr, @dechastre, @robinsonlgil, @elicto11, @fakj94, @ferrerasphoto, @jcphphotography, @inedido, @jesuszoliz, @mariangelesnav, @albertotang, @sophiakovalski, @yaibak, @zailecita, @aguaenpolvo, @yusaymon, @ahugehug, @annieee, @cronosclocks, @daniel-irala, @dianalealart, @erickrivera, @emicazal, @gabrielm07, @gade4art, @gavahema, @gooze, @hueleacaramelo, @javgreen, @jorgeddln, @josemiguel, @jsf, @kookyan, @lunatico18, @majo1989, @roybrown, @soydiegorojas, @steamdan, @unicornia, @visionfractal, @fab.exe, @yir, etc.

These are some of the Latin American and Spanish-speaking authors who are contributing this type of content and have our support.

Great, this brings us to the next point.

  • Impulse authors growth and his self-sustainability on Steem

We want to achieve this by adding value to the network through promoting the things we consider most important for growth both for the authors and for Steem in general terms:

  • Promoting Steem in Latin America

We want to build a link between Steem and the development of art and culture in Latin America by carrying out activities with the aim of promoting and facilitating the adoption of the Steem blockchain by the Latin American and Spanish-speaking artists and also for investors who want to support or create business models on Steem with cultural-artistic purposes, this can be a tool for us to growth as a society, and also to help us to solve real problems that afflict us as "individuals in the real world".

We are inviting Latin American artists and creatives who are already contributing their creations on social networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Wordpress, Blogspot and many others to be part of this new Steem-powered paradigm, which will empower us as artists and will allow us to grow in a more fair way according to our needs.

  • Recruit Steemians committed to the development of culture and art in their countries

As a project we have already started working in Venezuela, but if we want to really impact we must be able to connect with artists from other countries to spread and carry out the Celf vision to all Latin America from Mexico to the Patagonia of Chile and Argentina.

It looks like something big or impossible to achieve, but I think it can be done, if we can dream it, we can achieve it... ok, ending with the motivational speech. Let's continue

What do we need?

Currently we already have some support from the Reveur project, with which we have been able to capitalize our efforts, and they are also supporting our Curation work. Most of the income is being used to Power Up and rent Steem power, and the rest of the income has been used to finance contest and initiatives to promote Art and Culture on Steem.

Despite already having support, we still need more, because we believe that our mission requires it. We currently need Steem power delegation, members for our curation trail and income through small, medium and heavy upvotes in our publications, we have avoided paying bidbots at all costs to make our publications profitable, all Celf income is thanks to votes from the community and users who support us.

To take into consideration

@guyfawkes4-20 said that if the project had been launched, there should only be one person behind it, I can say that despite I have some people working with me for the project, I am the founder and I am the one who has invested more time and effort during these two months, I hope that this is not a limitation for Celf to be part of the Sndbox Summer Camp.

You can check our progress as a project in our steemit blog: @celfmagazine

Without much more to add, kind regards.

This proyect its going well and it deserves to keep going with the best support.

Thank you brother!

Me parece muy buena enfoque y visión. Saludos. Muchas gracias por estar aquí por todos nosotros. Reestimaré esto.

Siomara, muchas gracias por tu comentario y el resteem, saludos.

This post has been voted by the @votomasivo's trail project because @celfmagazine is the best humanistic curation project of the spanish speakers community, and they should be supported by every steemit user.

Thank you, I'm not sure if we are "the best humanistic curation project" haha. But we are trying to improve.

@Celf is a very well thought out project, totally genuine, with very good intentions. I do not see why it can not continue growing and embracing the entire Spanish-speaking artistic community. The purpose of Celf is very clear, and it will not stop growing. Steemit and the life of this great family will never be the same again. Let's continue growing, that creativity overflows us, and we share. Share is expand.

Alberto muchas gracias por tus palabras. Un abrazo.

This is truly one of the most inspiring projects i have seen, i'm really thankful to you for supporting the latin artist's community.

Thank you very much Juan

@celfmagazine It is a great project! And it will be much better with substantial support.

I hope the best for your curation project.

Thank you Camilo.

Celf it's such a great project and is surrounded by wonderful and talented people, I think it's so important to the latin america comunnity to expand and I believe CELF could be such a good help to that, like already has been. I hope it gets the support that deserves. Thanks @joedukeg for such a passionate project.

Thank you Jeilin, you have been helped me a lot to make this project happen.
