Wow, it does not seem like today is the last day since @guyfawkes4-20 announced Sndbox Summer Camp Final Quest Rules. The rule is that every finalist who passes the first quest Sndbox Summer Camp must choose one project that has also won the Coding and Project quest. I am a finalist of the filmmaking quest. Therefore I try to choose a project that suits my ability.

I learned one by one from the available projects. Finally, I decided to join the team on the @speakfreelytv project carried by @cahlen. I read his post and watched his explanation video about @speakfreelytv. I am very interested in the vision carried by @cahlen via @speakfreelytv and I am very confident to join the team.

Speak Freely TV Vision

This is a very simple idea. But it has a huge influence on everyone in the world. After four years of working in documentary, interviewing dozens of people in a very personal way, I realized that we should give others the opportunity to give their opinion without any discrimination. They can express themselves and talk about what comes from their perspective.

We just have to stand in front of the camera and give our opinion about something without feeling discriminated. That's why I chose to join this team. I really want to contribute a lot in developing this project. Because I think everyone has the right to speak.

Join a Great Team

I don't know any of them who finally chose project @speakfreelytv. We finally got into a discord group and greeted each other. It didn't take long for us to get to know each other and work together. Among us are:

We immediately set up a framework to be able to discuss the program in detail and scheduled. @evecab then started compiling it on google docs with the title Roadmap for Speak Freely TV and we participated to edit it according to what we discussed. Until then, the idea came up to make our introduction and Speak Freely TV video, I immediately offered to edit it.

My Participation as a Filmmaker in The Project

As a filmmaker, I've been very used to working on taking videos and editing them. But now I'm a bit challenged because we are in different parts of the world. I didn't do my own shooting for their videos. This will obviously be very difficult for an editor. I never know how their video codecs look, how much audio intensity their camera will capture, how much shock they generate. I am very excited waiting for the video results.

While meeting through live video, I still can not believe I can join with friends who are extraordinary, Steemian from various countries in the world. That's where I told them to send the video they had recorded through the wetransfer.com app. Within no more than 24 hours, all the videos have been entered into my email and ready for download. How does this team work? all very timely. Remarkable.

We agreed to complete my video editing on Friday (8/6/2018). @cahlen volunteered to edit if I was busy and could not get it done. But I assure @cahlen that everything will be fine. I will finish it on time. When we start to include all our videos in the Adobe Premiere Pro app, there are some unreadable videos. Maybe the codecs are different. My prediction is correct, that's what happens if the video is not recorded with one camera. But I quickly overcame it by converting the codec uniformly to the quicktime player (.mov) format.

I successfully edited it even before the deadline. I realized there must be something to be fixed after all of us watched it. Sure enough, in the video section that explains about Speak Freely TV, I do not follow it as it says on the script. Everyone agreed to edit it again. The posting deadline for the project falls on June 10, meaning I have to finish the video within 12 hours. Thanks to my friends, @evecab, @wanderlass, @cahlen, @amymya, @tifaong, who have provided support so I can do my work for this project well. Can not wait to work together again at a later stage.

Wow, tidak serasa hari ini adalah hari terakhir sejak @guyfawkes-20 mengumumkan Sndbox Summer Camp Final Quest. Aturannya, setiap finalis yang berhasil lolos pada Sndbox Summer Camp tahap pertama harus memilih salah satu project yang juga telah menang pada quest Coding dan Project. Saya adalah finalis dari quest filmmaking. Oleh karena itu saya berusaha memilih project yang sesuai dengan kemampuan saya.

Saya memperlajari satu per satu dari project yang tersedia tersebut. Akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk bergabung bersama tim pada project #speakfreelytv yang diusung oleh @cahlen. Saya membaca postingannya dan menonton video penjelasannya tentang #speakfreelytv. Saya sangat tertarik dengan visi yang dibawa oleh @cahlen melalui #speakfreelytv dan saya sangat yakin untuk bergabung bersama tim tersebut.

Visi Speak Freely TV

Ini adalah ide yang sangat sederhana. Tetapi, sangat memberi pengaruh besar pada setiap orang di dunia. Setelah empat tahun bekerja di film dokumenter, mewawancarai puluhan orang dengan sangat personal, saya menyadari bahwa kita seharusnya memberi kesempatan bagi orang lain untuk memberikan pendapatnya tanpa adanya diskriminasi. Mereka bisa berekspresi dan berbicara tentang apa yang muncul dari perspektif mereka.

Kita hanya perlu berdiri di depan kamera dan mengeluarkan pendapat kita tentang sesuatu tanpa merasa terdiskriminasi. Itu alasan kenapa saya memilih untuk bergabung dalam tim ini. Saya sangat ingin berkontribusi banyak dalam mengembangkan project ini. Karena saya rasa semua orang punya hak untuk berbicara.

Bergabung bersama tim yang sangat luar biasa

Saya tidak mengenal satupun dari mereka yang akhirnya memilih project #speakfreelytv. Kami akhirnya masuk ke dalam satu grup discord dan saling menyapa. Tidak perlu waktu lama bagi kami untuk saling kenal satu sama lain dan bekerjasama. Diantara kami adalah:

Kami langsung menyusun kerangka pekerjaan untuk bisa membahas program secara detail dan terjadwal. @evecab kemudian mulai menyusunnya pada google docs dengan judul Roadmap for Speak Freely TV dan kami berpartisipasi untuk mengeditnya sesuai dengan apa yang kami diskusikan. Hingga kemudian muncul ide untuk membuat video perkenalan kami dan Speak Freely TV, saya langsung menawarkan diri untuk mengeditnya.

Partisipasi saya sebagai filmmaker dalam project

Sebagai filmmaker, saya sudah sangat terbiasa bekerja untuk mengambil video dan mengeditnya. Tapi sekarang saya sedikit tertantang karena kami berada di belahan dunia yang berbeda. Saya tidak melakukan shooting sendiri untuk video mereka. Ini jelas akan sangat sulit bagi seorang editor. Saya tidak pernah tahu bagaimana bentuk codec videonya, berapa intensitas audio yang akan ditangkap kamera mereka, seberapa besar guncangan yang dihasilkan. Saya sangat excited menunggu hasil video tersebut.

Saat melakukan pertemuan melalui video live, saya masih tidak percaya bisa bergabung dengan teman-teman yang sangat luar biasa, Steemian dari berbagai negara di dunia. Di sanalah saya menyuruh mereka untuk mengirim video yang telah mereka rekam itu melalui aplikasi wetransfer.com. Dalam waktu tidak lebih dari 24 jam, semua video sudah masuk ke dalam email saya dan siap untuk saya download. Bagaimana tim ini bekerja? semua sangat tepat waktu. Sangat luar biasa.

Kami sepakat agar saya menyelesaikan editing videonya pada hari Jumat (8/6/2018). @cahlen menawarkan diri untuk mengedit jika saya sibuk dan tidak bisa menyelesaikannya. Tapi saya meyakinkan @cahlen bahwa semua akan baik-baik saja. Saya akan menyelesaikannya tepat waktu. Saat mulai memasukkan semua video kami dalam aplikasi Adobe Premiere Pro, ada beberapa video yang tidak bisa dibaca. Mungkin codecnya berbeda. Prediksi saya benar, itu yang akan terjadi jika video tidak direkam dengan satu kamera. Tetapi saya cepat-cepat mengatasinya dengan mengconvert codecnya secara seragam ke format quicktime player (.mov).

Saya berhasil mengeditnya bahkan sebelum tenggat waktu. Saya menyadari bahwa pasti ada hal yang harus diperbaiki setelah semua dari kami menontonnya. Benar saja, pada bagian video yang menjelaskan tentang Speak Freely TV, saya tidak mengikuti seperti yang tertulis pada script. Semuanya sepakat agar saya mengeditnya kembali. Deadline postingan untuk project jatuh pada tanggal 10 Juni, artinya saya harus menyelesaikan videonya dalam waktu 12 jam. Terima kasih kepada teman-teman, @evecab, @wanderlass, @cahlen, @amymya, @tifaong, yang sudah memberi support sehingga saya bisa melakukan pekerjaan saya untuk project ini dengan baik. Tidak sabar untuk bekerja sama kembali pada tahap selanjutnya.
