I have read the posting guidelines, understand the concept of Steemhunt and it's time I make my first product hunt post
Wait, How do I make a product hunt post?
Making a product hunt post is somewhat the same as writing a post on Steemit, Busy.org, and others.
Product link
One of the criteria for your hunt to be considered valid is that it must have its own official web address, not a blog site.
Although, fundraising website and other major app store is valid, to get a list of valid product link then check PG 3
Sometimes, Steemhunt is unable to access certain product links, when or if this happens you are advised to use a URL shortener to shorten the product link, an example of URL shortener is Bitly
Url shortener can also be used when a similar hunted product already has that product link, probably an updated version of a product was released, to bypass the product link already exist, then use a URL shortener to generate a new link.
Note, the new product update must have a considerable change made to the previous one before hunting it, else it might be considered a duplicate
Name of product
Here, hunters are advised to use the product name alone, do not add and do not remove words.

Also, before you hunt a product, do a search on the product name to avoid duplication.
Short Description
Every salesman needs a sales pitch.
The short description should be brief and at the same time tell the viewers what the product is all about.
Do not repeat the product name in the short description, this is the same as iteration.
In not more than 60 characters, clearly define what the product is all about, use catchy words that would intrigue the viewers to want to know more about the said product.
Images
Steemhunt supports different types of images format, it also supports gif files but a maximum file size of 5mb is allowed.
Although, after using Steemhunt for quite a while, I was able to locate a platform that allows users to shrink/optimize gifs.
Meaning, if you found a gif that clearly explained the product but having a size above the allowed 5mb limit, you can shrink it down a little bit, say 1 or 2mb down and maintaining its clearness.

It is advisable to use a minimum of 2 images, clearly visible
Hunters comment
Unlike the short description, you can explicitly write about the product here, the cons and pros, what the product hopes to achieve and why users should prefer it to others if there is any comparison.
The word count allowed here is 1000,
Plagiarism is prohibited on Steemhunt and hunters are always advised to desist from such activity.
Words that are not yours should be quoted and sourced.
The penalty for engaging in plagiarism is a blacklist of the account
Tags
Just like what we already have on various interface on the steem blockchain, this is a medium to sort for products and users are advised to use tags that are in-line to what the product is all about.
Although there is no penalty when you go against such, for the benefits of present and future users, hunters are advised to use tags relating to the product hunt.
Upon accessing the @steemhunt steemhunt page, you will be presented with multiple and different product hunt post for the day.
As a hunter, you are required to curate or vote product hunt post you found useful daily.
This is to ensure that only the top 100 deserving product hunt post get rewarded for that day.
As a curator, there are certain things you can look into before upvoting a product hunt post,
The product link, you should access it if it is valid or not, using the explanation given above.
Search if the hunter comment was plagiarized or not.
The images are they clear enough or barely visible?
These and many others you see fit.
When voting a product hunt post, you are presented with a voting bar, that allows you to vote with any percentage you see fit.
Remember, user score as was stated on the previous review is calculated using different features available on the Steemhunt platform.
Unlike Steemit, Busy, and other Steem interface, voting power is not dependent on your staked value (SteemPower).
Avoid duplication, when searching for a product name, try using words that can also be used to locate that product, hunters oftentimes use names that are different from what you found
Product link should be the official one and not a blog or market place to avoid duplication
Avoid plagiarism

Use clearly visible images
Hunter comment should be used, I have seen unique product hunt post getting low upvotes due to no or low quality of the hunter's comment
The above sometimes happen due to a poor internet service, Steemhunt unable to save the draft work before clicking Post Now and others.
When or if this happens, do not panic, it can be easily rectified with some few steps
Search on the product name via the search bar
Click on it and an error message will be shown to you,
Click on the edit icon
Scroll down and click update.
Give it few seconds and the post will become visible to all
