I discovered something interesting and made further research to share with everyone. Do you know that soil being a single entity means different things to people of different field. You probably have an idea but can you distinguish the use of soil for different fields of study ?? Sit down,relax and get schooled

BOTANY :~
A botanist utilises soil for planting.

CHEMISTRY :~
Chemist use the soil to obtain minerals for use in chemical processing or in the lab.

ANTHROPOLOGY :~
Anthropologist uses soil for the holistic scientific and social study of humanity, mainly using ethnography as its method.

GEOPYHSICS :~
Geophysicist studies the soil dealing with the physical processes and phenomena occurring especially in the earth and in its vicinity. Eg
Drilling borehole, you have to know the type of soil you are about drilling, and when drilling, the soil samples coming to the surface gives information about the borehole. Soil forms the major chunk of study in geology.

POTTER :~
A Potter makes pots and other ceramic wares with soil.

SCULPTURE :~

Sculpturist use soil to make art work by sculpting.

CIVIL ENGINEERING :~
Civil Engineers deal with the mechanical properties of the soil materials and with the application of the knowledge of these properties to engineering problems. They use soil for construction of roads,buildings, bridges,etc.

AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING :~
As a versatile field of study, Agricultural Engineers make do with soil the most. Soil physical properties are a key consideration for productive and sustainable Agricultural management, land development and environmental stewardship. Soil is used in soil and water conservation, planting, construction of farm structures and food processing like frying of groundnut.
