The Steem blockchain has a real flow of activity with new cool tribes aka communities at the moment, 2 weeks ago I jumped on CreativeCoin - now SonicGroove also appeared, the perfect tribe for me it seems. Maybe now time to really write and talk about my music passion finally and to create content I love for the audience that might appreciate it!? Who knows? Time will tell!

Dance Music in Bulgaria called Chalga

A post around introducing music from around the world - edition #3 covers Bulgaria especially for #DanceWeekend - the Chalga style of Bulgaria, a style that is common across several countries in South Eastern Europe. Some of the Top Stars nowadays even produce english language music like Andrea which is THE Chalga superstar in the first video.

Chalga what?

Chalga is a Bulgarian music genre that is often referred to as pop-folk. Basically it is Bulgarian ethno-pop with influences from Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Romani, Albanian and Russian music. And it is usually includes hot topics meaning sexy music. Just watch the videos.

More Music styles from the country?

Actually the country has a huge tradition in *Folk" music so their instruments. A lot instruments there are variants of traditional Asian tools such as the "Saz" (Bulgarian tambura). An interesting one is the "gaida", a traditional goat-skin bagpipe that sounds much better is the more famous scotish pipe :-). Nowadays the music scene is full of a mix of modern and traditional instruments such as violin, accordion, clarinet, saxophone, drum set, electric bass, electric guitar and synthesizer. If you never been on a Bulgarian wedding, do it! Fun, Food, Love and people that welcome every foreigner with pleasure.
