Scientists see a supermassive black hole devouring star for the first time ever
Have you ever seen a supermassive black hole using telescope? I don’t have telescope. Nevertheless I always try to see planets with the unaided eye, but couldn’t ever trace them due to lack of experience. I have read many articles and found the planets can be seen with the unaided eye. I think experienced people can see them. Common people can’t differentiate them from others.
Recently a supermassive black hole grabs a star twice the size of the Sun and threw out the fast-moving streams of debris produced after a huge blast.
The whole event captured using highly specialized telescopes which are mainly trained to focus on Arp 299 lying almost 150 light-years from Earth. Arp 299 holds the merging process of two galaxies. A star two times bigger than the size of the Sun located at the center of one of those galaxies was grabbed by a block hole when the star reached near it. This black hole that devour the star is also found 20 times larger than the size of the Sun.
After a huge blast, the material torn from the star started moving around the black hole, making a rotating disk. The emission of Intense X-rays and visible light were also seen. The materials were also being driven from the center of the disk.
"Never before have we been able to directly observe the formation and evolution of a jet from one of these events," said Miguel Perez-Torres, of the Astrophysical Institute of Andalusia in Granada, Spain.
Supermassive black holes are found in most galaxies that devour material or substance and throw them out which forms a rotating disc around the hole. But most black holes are calm and don’t pull anything to destroy.
