Degradación del poder adquisitivo en Venezuela - Degradation of purchasing power in Venezuela [SPA/ENG]

in #spanish6 years ago (edited)

Greetings once again dear friends, again I want to make a publication, I should say that I hope you will like it but the truth is that I do not think that what I publish is pleasant because it is about loss of human rights to have a life of welfare.

I am referring to the critical degradation of purchasing power that we Venezuelans have suffered. As those who follow me and read about me know, I wrote an article about the crisis in my country called My country is falling, It was the moment when I felt helpless to see a large part of the population leaving the country amidst the hunger and misery that plagued us.

As I mentioned at the time I have not left the country because I feel a deep love for him and my most appreciated people are here, besides steemit has been a support for me all this time, at least it has served me to buy food, however the rules of the game have changed, almost a month ago I found out that my wife was pregnant so it is no longer just about buying food.

Articulo my first baby

I've always had my trust in God who is my supplier and nothing will be lacking, but I have been outraged by the following: recently after having collected some profits from steemit I was able to initial my baby's crib, I was very happy despite the fact that the cost of the crib is quite a lot compared to the salary of a worker, but I thought I already had it in my hand, but when I'm going to ask for the price of the mattress I almost froze, so I took out the following account that I want to share with you so you can get an idea of how we are here.
  1. The minimum wage in the country is less than 2,500,000VEF=1.5$ < 1SBD, that is, a Venezuelan with a minimum wage earns less than 1SBD per month.

  2. A kilo of meat is worth 1SBD, and any product in the basic basket is between 0.5 and 1SBD (the currency used is FEV but I take it to SBD to get an idea).

  3. The crib (the crib bed I ordered) without the mattress comes out in 32 SBD and the mattress in 42SBD for a total of 74SBD.

So a person on a minimum wage would have to work 74 months without spending a penny on anything to buy a crib? that without taking into account that things are going up every day, when I get the money together inflation will have raised the price to unusual levels, so it is impossible for an average worker to afford it.

But how come we're still alive and we can eat?

By God's mercy in the first place, by the mathematics described above you will know that even working is not enough for anything, the only way is with foreign currency, those who left the country in the mass migration mentioned above send the little they earn in $ to their relatives who stayed here, where they are not enough for much but when they arrive here is enough to eat at least. Others do online activities that allow you to earn in dollars as in my case I am here sharing with you thanks to God. And others who do not apply any of the above options are literally starving to death.

Let's put our country in prayer because God is great in mercy, I don't know what the media says but here we are getting worse and worse.

I almost don't like to publish about this but the truth is that I felt a lot of indignation about not being able to buy things from my baby as I had planned, although I still work for it and I know that everything is in God's hands.
