ES: El 30 de Noviembre de 2018 el grupo de Excursionismo Huayra celebró su 40 aniversario con una excursión que rememora sus raíces.
Fundado el 30 de Noviembre de 1978 como parte de las agrupaciones estudiantiles de la Universidad Simón Bolívar sede Litoral, el centro de Excursionismo Huayra se convirtió en uno de los iconos universitarios por su larga permanencia en el tiempo.
EN: On November 30, 2018, the Huayra Hiking Group celebrated its 40th anniversary with an excursion that commemorates its roots.
Founded on November 30, 1978 as part of the student groups of the Universidad Simón Bolívar headquarters Litoral, the Huayra Hiking Center became one of the university icons for its long permanence in time.
ES: A pesar de haberse independizado de la institucionalidad de la universidad y convertirse en un ente independiente sigue siendo al día de hoy patrimonio de la USB, razón por la cual acordaron celebrar su 40 aniversario volviendo a sus raíces, realizando la excursión que por tradición se llevaba a cabo cada año hasta el trapiche que quedaba detrás de los terrenos de la universidad.
EN: Despite having become independent from the institutionality of the university and become an independent entity is still today the heritage of the USB, which is why they agreed to celebrate their 40th anniversary by returning to their roots, making the trip that traditionally took place every year to the trapiche behind the grounds of the university.
ES: La excursión recorre un camino que se adentra en la montaña del Ávila ( también conocido como parque Waraira Repano) del lado de su cara norte que da hacia el estado Vargas en Venezuela. En un paisaje selvático los excursionistas se abren camino por medio del Río Grande el cual pasa al lado de un antiguo Trapiche cafetalero, destino final de la excursión excursión recorre un camino que se adentra en la montaña del Ávila ( también conocido como parque Waraira Repano) del lado de su cara norte que da hacia el estado Vargas en Venezuela. En un paisaje selvático los excursionistas se abren camino por medio del Río Grande el cual pasa al lado de un antiguo Trapiche cafetalero, destino final de la excursión.
EN: The excursion follows a path that leads into the Ávila mountain (also known as Waraira Repano park) on the side of its north face that faces the Vargas state in Venezuela. ES: Desafortunadamente el camino no había sido explorado por más de 20 años y por ende había cambiado mucho desde la conocida tragedia del estado Vargas en el año 1999, razón por la cual la excursión vio su final al encontrarse frente a una caída de agua corta pero fuerte y abundante que evitó que la mayoría de las personas que iban en la excursión (profesores, alumnos, invitados) no pudieran proseguir.
EN: Unfortunately the road had not been explored for more than 20 years and therefore had changed much since the well-known tragedy of the Vargas state in 1999, which is why the excursion saw its end when it was faced with a short but strong and abundant waterfall that prevented most of the people who went on the excursion (teachers, students, guests) could not continue.
ES: De esta manera la excursión culminó frente a esta hermosa caída de agua en la que un total de 40 personas disfrutaron de sus frías y refrescantes aguas.
EN: In this way, the excursion ended in front of this beautiful waterfall in which a total of 40 people enjoyed its cold and refreshing waters.
