Caballo Percherón
El Percherón procede de una zona llamada Le Perche situada al suroeste de París. Parece ser que ya lo utilizaban los caballeros medievales y que se realizaron cruces constantes con el árabe a lo largo del tiempo. De esta manera se produjo un elegante caballo de sangre fría muy apreciado, entre otras razones, porque sus cernejas, en comparación con otros sangre fría, son escasas, lo que reduce el riesgo de que contraiga enfermedades de la piel.
La historia del Percherón se caracteriza por la variedad de tareas que se le han asignado: ha sido caballo de guerreros y campesinos, ha tirado de carros y arados, e incluso ha trabajado como caballo de silla. Con toda seguridad su robustez, agilidad y facilidad de manejo han ayudado a conseguir esa versatilidad.
