I am studying the first semester of Integral Design and in our evaluative plan of the subject "Fundamentals of Design" They sent us to make resources about visual perception and its principles, I want to this share here because I find it very interesting.
I begin to define what perception is, perception is a mechanism that we humans do, this mechanism, consist in recive, interpretation and understanding, the signals that come from outside, it is visual perception, when this mechanism is through the sense of sight, the ability to interpret the environment thanks to the rays of light that reach our eyes, is the interpretation of visual external stimuli, which are related to the previous cognition of the human and even the emotional state of the same. Although this act is daily and performed automatically, it is not at all simple.
This is the process of the components, the search for meaning and the encounter of meaning.
In this mechanism not only participe the receiver, but also the sender and the given message.

Estoy estudiando el primer semestre de Diseño Integral y en nuestro plan de evaluación de la asignatura "Fundamentos del diseño". Nos enviaron a hacer recursos sobre la percepción visual y sus principios. Quiero compartir esto aquí porque me parece muy interesante.
Empiezo por definir qué es la percepción, la percepción es un mecanismo que hacemos los humanos, este mecanismo consiste en recibir, interpretar y comprender, las señales que vienen de fuera, es la percepción visual, cuando este mecanismo es a través del sentido de la vista. La capacidad de interpretar el entorno gracias a los rayos de luz que llegan a nuestros ojos, es la interpretación de estímulos visuales externos, que están relacionados con la cognición previa del ser humano e incluso con el estado emocional del mismo. Aunque este acto es diario y se realiza automáticamente, no es en absoluto simple.
Este es el proceso de los componentes, la búsqueda de significado y el encuentro de significado.
En este mecanismo no solo participan el receptor, sino también el remitente y el mensaje dado.

There are two levels in the interpretation of a message, the denoted and the connoted.

The denoted is relatively objective and mostly presents descriptive elements or representations of an image or text.
A clear and understandable example is that of a traffic signal.

Hay dos niveles en la interpretación de dicho mensaje, el denotado y el connotado.
El denotado es relativamente objetivo y mayormente presenta elementos descriptivos o representaciones de una imagen o texto.
Un ejemplo claro y entendible es el de una señal de transito.
