Think outside the Sphere - Part 1
"Sir, We have reached a new and wider conduit that is about twelve thousand miles straight into the core" They were inside a tube that was about twice as wide as they were. They had been probing the hatch for hours to get it to unlock. They had already progressed five hundred and seventy miles deeper then any other team had into 0 and been at a dead end for months exploring the surrounding conduits and hallways and tubes looking for an entrance into a deeper and older area.
Other teams were exploring the upper passageways they had opened on their descent these millions of miles. It appeared that zero was created like an onion, layers, each layer separated from the layer underneath, with very few doorways connecting each layer. we were not as we were born anymore really, not the shell, but mostly machines, over years first replacing their natural organics and then modifying and perfecting to their own sense their now mostly mechanical image. The leader of this particular group still had an image of his biological body as mechanical, and he built it so that he could separate from his mechanical additions to represent more of the original person he once was.
Only the face was still real flesh. that we knew. The rest looked as a dark grey mechanical metallic coating with dark red stripes running vertically on his body, he could change the color at will, just preferred this color as it was representative of the life task he had chosen. This skin was comprised mostly of nano machines which were specifically designed to be able to form into specific tools for different requirements. There were nanobots that could be injected into things to gain a microscopic view of.. for example.. electronic locks on hatchways and the such. They were a particular special team, Him and his four companions, built mostly from the highly advanced algorithms created from HavCveat and the science vessel.
Shame that the majority of HavCveat decided to leave. These tools allowed them an advantage in gaining access into areas which had previously been inaccessible and they had proven their ability time and time again, gaining them lead of all teams of explorers of 0. Not that twelve thousand miles was any where near the core of 0. It was a path that was longer then anyone had ever been into in 0. 0 is the suppose original structure of the commonwealth, with a 79 light year in diameter sphere, not as a disk shape like the other galaxystructures, this was a full solid almost near perfect sphere. Presumed to be the same technology as the unexplored core parts of MetaMuzal and many of the other of the oldest and most ancient galaxy structures, 0 is also unexplored. 0 has had hundreds of thousands of years of additional building onto it, creating it into more of a neuron type of structure.
Many tendrils leading out to the middle sphere of galaxystructures. All of the galaxystructures on the middle galaxystructure sphere and 0 could literally be considered one mega structure now due to the additions created over the thousands of years. Some of the most respected in their society speculated that there were possibly large areas within 0 which was like our own research planets. Just vast areas with solar systems and inhabitants who possibly do not even know about anything off their planet. circling endlessly around created stars. They started their descent into the shaft very slowly, watching, recording and transmitting the visual and audio of what they were seeing to many places across the commonwealth, mostly anyone who was interested to watch. Hopefully no detail was left undisturbed. They gained seven hundred and sixty some odd miles into the conduit when they reached an energy dispersion field. They worked on this field for several days before disabling it and proceeding to the hatch at the end of the conduit.
This hatch took twenty two days to unlock and burst open suddenly with such violence that two of the team members, one being the leader, were sucked into the void beyond it by the higher pressure of the air in the conduit releasing into a lower pressure of space beyond it. They had been ready for such things, just not as violent as this. It was very unexpected. The remaining team that was not blasted into the space immediately raised a field behind them to stop the seemingly endless flow of constant air. They then protruded a nanoline to the rest of the team floating in the void, already many many miles out into the space. The leader Vix, and Jot, had already started their own stability jets and were heading back towards the now open hatch way. They grabbed the nanoline and instructed the end of it to convert into a sensor array.
The sensors determined the void to be a rough sphere 12,311,000,000 km in diameter with G6 Class stars in a binary type system around each other. This was by far the largest void they had ever found in zero. Having 42 somewhat varying sized planets around this Binary system. Each planet having a roughly two to sixty thousand km Circumference, with various moons around some of the planets. Everything appearing in hydrostatic equilibrium. The stars were both estimated to be around 2.3 billion years old. They were both Population I stars, being comprised of many heavy metals and being fairly young stars. One of the stars was being drawn in by the other causing both of them to become unstable internally. This cannibalism of one star by the other was apparently a more recent, and not so natural, development in the life span of this system. They also detected several dozen objects floating and being propelled through the inside of the sphere, they appeared to be ships. These objects that appeared to be created by the civilization that was present. The entire system had been created at one point by someone or something in 0. wonder if it is still forgotten about or if there is masters at the controls of the destiny and fate of the inhabitants of this system. If there was someone monitoring this system externally or the inhabitants were in contact with them, there was no indication yet we had been seen opening this door and entering their space.
There were radio signals emitting from many of the planets and structures and vessels around the planets in the most habitable zone around the two stars and curiously there was a radio signal from one spot from the surface of the inside of the sphere about a million miles from their present location, rather close.
Vix and his team stayed in their present locations for nearly two months monitoring the civilization inside of this sphere. Waiting on orders if they were to go back into the conduit and continue exploring the other hatchways, or if they were to find another hatchway on the other side to continue going deeper into 0. Or, Vix wanted the most, and feared a little, They would be told to make first contact instead of going to the other side of the sphere and looking for more hatchways to go deeper. Vix wanted to continued exploring 0, going deeper inside of 0, It was all he wanted to do, all his life, technology, the other teams can deal with these people in this void. Find and answer the mysteries of their own civilization by opening the mysteries of 0 to the scientists. Not specifically being the scientist of the mysteries that he believed he would open. He could perform the necessary tasks, It was a part of the training he required in order to get to the position he was at.
The command came down the wire, quite literally, Instead of using radio communications or atom based communications, Which they could... Fear of losing touch with the outside, they strung a continuous thread of nanobots connecting them to the surface location, thousands of miles away. The surface location was not specifically on the surface of 0, It was contained in an area near the surface of the original 0 where many individuals were monitoring them and helping them. Created as a Base Camp of sorts. The command was more of a question and a request of honor from the chief science officer himself. "Vix, Since you found this, and it is the first apparent experimental location being operated by something unknown within 0, We would like for you to communicate with this civilization to see if they understand where they are and what they are. Make first contact. We will also need your team to search the surface of the interior of this empty sphere for monitors from another civilization or machine monitoring this area, if one is present anymore. We are sending a few of the closest teams to you for your command. Do you accept this?"
Vix stated that he accepted the mission without hesitation and then told his team to split up between the points. One of his team, Jan, would to stay at the opening of the hatch and monitor the planetary systems communications and continue deciphering it, since that was her primary interests of course. Two others, Sheen and Flax, went to explore the
interior surface of the sphere for monitoring equipment and any other things that would indicate someone watching the civilization inside of this void.. The fourth, Jimmy went to the location of the civilizations radio communications coming from the surface of the sphere. Vix then started towards the planet that they had determined to have the capital city.
When Vix landed on the planet, a major store on one of the planets was selling "think outside the sphere" shirts. It was apparently a turbulent time. It appeared there had been a war recently and the civilization was rebuilding.
