SPIRITUAL FOOD 4 THOUGHT - IS RAY COMFORT A PERVERTOR OF THE GOSPEL MESSAGE?

Does he really "add" to the gospel message?

Over the years, some have claimed that Ray Comfort perverts the gospel message by saying things like, "There are two things you must do to be saved," or telling people to believe and repent. Is this actually adding something to the gospel?

In this video, I'll share a few verses that I believe pertain to this issue, and add a couple of my own thoughts on the matter as well.

Turning away from the sin or repentance is necessary. Yet few ministers speak of it. I supposed because because that it is not popular or will fill the collection plate. Indeed it is much harder than asking for forgiveness. Thanks @papa-pepper for preaching the word.

If anyone wanted to confuse the main concept of salvation, the gospels sure do. Belief, works and or maybe repentance.

Nothing wrong with Ray Comfort's preaching's my brother. It's just that people don't want to hear the truth. The word "Love" is used to water the gospels down, so that it conforms to their own comforts. Blessings!

I don't enough about him but I know that you pervert the gospel. You teach people that they need to follow the Jewish law.

I teach that AFTER salvation a believer should OBEY GOD. Check your Bible, it's mentioned in there... even in Revelation 12 and 14, right near the end... New Testament stuff.

Check the Bible? Come on @papa-pepper you and I both know that if the Bible says something different than what @barncat says then clearly the Bible is wrong.

Hebrews 6:1-3

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement. And this will we do, if God permit.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 20:21

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith to order Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 11:15-18 "...Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life "

Romans 16:25-27

"...made known to all nation's for the obedience of faith:"

Repentance and baptism is done as a response to the supernatural conviction of the Holy Spirit. This, "Obedience of the faith" is a response to the Grace of having our hearts opened to the truth of the Good News, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting men's sins against them. That if we turn (repent) from our way of life and trust in Jesus (believe) to save us by His death and resurrection, we will confess that with our mouths and be saved, for out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
