Blast from the past - Safari Rally 1998
Hi, Steemers!
Safari Rally has really big chances to be back in the World Rally Championship again from 2020 or 2021. FIA signed a contract with Kenyan Government so this means money guaranties are there. Organizers just need to make next Safari Rally as a candidate event as best as possible.
Season 1998 was really great. We had Subaru and Mitsubishi WRC teams and there were not paying drivers in those times, at least not in works teams and not nominated for points.
I think that this shit with paying drivers ruined sport. Only pure talents should be in works seats nominated for manufacturer's points.
Colin McRae and Piero Liatti drove for Subaru those days. Makinen, who's Toyota's team boss today, was leading Mitsubishi driver and WRC champ in that time.
We can't bring back those days but we can enjoy it by watching great videos.
