New Citroen C3 R5 rally car retired even before first special stage on French national rally

French firm Citroen really hoped for a better results after some major problems with their DS3 R5 car which really hadn't reliability and the speed to beat other R5/WRC2 class cars. Here we have in mind Škoda and Ford because their cars are the most reliable and fastest in that category.

Yoann Bonato is Citroen's works driver who made, with Lefebvre, the most of the testing and developing work on this new C3 R5.

C3 R5 showed some speed on tarmac in WRC with Lefebvre behind a wheel but it's still something missing there. They are on pair on some special stages with Škoda and Ford but they can't beat them. I don't remember any win of them (Citroen) with this car and I follow the rallies all across the world 24/7.

Now we had another situation: Bonato's car retired even before the first special stage onthe French national event Rouergue because of the mechanical problem. We still don't know what was the problem but it's not good for the image of Citroen that they have that kind of the troubles on their new car.

Not good start of the campaign for their C3 R5 which was homologated this year just before the Rally Corsica.
