The Stadium “Cr. José Pedro Damiani ”bears his name in honor of the late President of Peñarol, who served as the president of the Club between 1987 and 1990, and subsequently between 1993 and 2007.
The sports arena, formerly called "Las Acacias", is located in the Marconi neighborhood of the City of Montevideo. It has a capacity for 12,000 spectators.
The official box and the entrance gate of the “Cr. José Pedro Damiani ”were part of the legendary Pocitos Stadium stadium, which was the scene of the club's location in its first years of life, and which became the first goal in the history of the World Cups, in 1930
It is owned by Club Atlético Peñarol since 1913, and construction work was completed in 1916, the year in which it was inaugurated with a match against the classic rival for the “Transatlantic Cup”, which ended with a win for Peñarol by 3 to 1 .

Currently, and since the 1990s, he has not been authorized by the Municipality of Montevideo, for security reasons, to play First Division matches. For this reason, the coal institution has regularly officiated its home games at the Centennial Stadium, owned by the Municipality, until the inauguration of the Champion of the Century, owned by the club. However, the institution's training divisions and the women's squad play their home games at this stadium
