in #sports5 years ago

Hello! Last weekend, the next stage of the World Rally Championship in Mexico. Victory in it won Sebastien Ogier. The French racer was in the lead throughout all three days. The competition at the first special stages he tried to make Andreas Mikkelsen, but the suspension hanging on the stone threw him back a lot of positions. Trying to take the lead Dani Sordo was also forced to retreat due to problems with the electrician. Many riders had problems with cars and this is not surprising because the conditions were difficult, 31°C and almost 3000 meters above sea level. The conditions were so harsh that the organizers had to cancel several special stages for security reasons.

Kris Meeke, who used the puncture of the wheel of Sebastian Ogier, took the lead from the Frenchman, but only for one special stage, as he himself received a puncture, and because the British decided not to stop the car, it also received damage to the suspension. The fight for places on the podium was between Elfin Evans and Ott Tanak. The Briton held a solid advantage over the Estonian throughout most of the rally, but in the final stages Ott broke out to the second line. Thierry Neuville was the fourth showing not the best results. The fifth place was taken by Kris Meeke, who overtook the local rider from the support team of Benito Guerra, who became the sixth.
