West Ham United is in the bottom of the standings after they were completely demolished by defending Premier League champions Manchester City FC.

There might be a lot of teams losing on the day one, but another parameter being set by when scores are tied will be based on goal differences. Since they were the biggest losers of day one (-5 goal difference), they sit at the bottom of the standings.
