Lasith Malinga Last Ball Heroics Helps Mumbai Indians Win IPL 2019

Lasith Malinga rolled back the years and produced a last ball beauty to give Mumbai Indians a record fourth IPL title. The duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga proved to be the difference and bowled their heart out to make Mumbai Indians the Indian Premier League Champion 2019 champion. Defending the score of 149, Mumbai Indians just managed to stop Chennai Super Kings at 148.

Chennai Super Kings required 9 runs off the last six balls. Mumbai Indians captain Lasith Malinga gave the ball to Lasith Malinga, who was the bowling coach last year and was making his comeback. What followed was pure magic.

Malinga gave four runs off the first three deliveries and it seemed that with Ravindra Jadeja and Shane Watson at the crease, Chennai Super Kings had the match in their bag. But, a great throw from Pandya got Watson out and changed the game on its head.

With CSK requiring four runs off the last two balls and Shardul Thakur on strike, the match became interesting. Thakur scored two runs of the penultimate delivery and CSK needed two runs off the final ball. However, it was the brilliant last ball that won the match for Mumbai Indians.
