Are YOU as excited about the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as what I am? Then read on, I am about to make your day.
Officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad (or if you have some swag, Les Jeux olympiques d’été de 2024) the Paris 2024 Olympics will take place from 2 - 18 August 2024. Paris will be the second city to host the Olympics three times – probably because it is such a beautiful place.
Wrestling and hopefully eSport gaming will be on the Paris menu in addition to the 25 permanent sport disciplines.
Stade de France will be the playground for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. In London, we saw how the then nearly 90 year old British Queen ‘jumped’ from a helicopter with James Bond and parachute into the stadium for the opening ceremony, so you can only imagine what the French will come up with – after all, nobody does it with quite as much chic as our French friends.

There will be beach volley ball on the Champ de Mars in central Paris, marathon swimming and triathlon around the Eiffel tower and the Champs-Élysées will be the Road Cycling route. Tennis will be at Stade Roland Garros with football in the Parc des Princes.
Golf at Le Golf National near Versailles, the Equestrian events IN the magnificent gardens of the Palace of Versailles. (Just typing that gave me a thrill already)
There will be sailing in Marseille on the French Riviera in the south of France and archery in the magnificent Les Invalides in Paris, the Tuilleries Gardens will host the skateboarding….
As much as I said an Olympics will never see me again, as much as I am going to skip Tokyo, I am just going to have to be in Paris for this. The swimming, the gymnastics and the diving are my must do and must see Olympic disciplines – and I am openly biased toward those.
In the end it doesn’t matter whether you are in your sitting room, in front of a screen or in the stands in Tokyo or Paris – be part of this, stand when you hear your national anthem at the medal ceremony, let your eyes mist over when your favourite athlete bends the head as they slip the medal ribbon over his or her head, but be part of this magnificent event.

If at all possible, try see only one Olympic event in your life. Dont think you can see everything - after the swimming i am so exhausted i go to bed for three days - watching even ONE live race drains you totaĺly or it hypes you like the Energiser Bunny.
