Even Aceh World Solidarity Tsunami Cup tahun 2017 lalu benar-benar menjadi pemicu gairah sepakbola Aceh.

Meskipun hanya empat klub nasional yang berpartisipasi, paling tidak event ini kemudian melahirkan klub sepakbola Aceh baru yakni Aceh United.

Aceh United yang berlaga di Liga 2 PSSI mulai menunjukkan performanya.
