Region 3 wins U-16 Tournament
Before, reaching the finals, Region 3 defeated Region 2 by 15 runs in the semifinal while Region 5 defeated 7 by 6 wickets in the semis. In the final played yesterday, Region 3 defeated Region 5 by 33 runs to win the title of the tournament.
Region 3 batted first and gave the target of 163 runs. While chasing, Region 5 could only reach 139 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 30 overs. Region 5 had lost three important wickets when there was 31 runs in the board. Bishal Kc and Amar Mishra came in the crease nd made the partnership of 61 runs which helped to build the innings. Amar scored 29 runs in the partnership while Bishal scored 44 runs from 46 balls with the help of six fours. Bibek Darai and Bibek Bohara took 2 wickets each.
Region 3 batted first had scored 162 runs in 30 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Abisekh Upadhayay top scored the innings with the help of 56 runs.
With this win, Region 3 won cricket kit worth One lakhs fifty thousands rupees only while Region 5 wins cricket kit worth seventy five thousands rupees only.
This tournament is a base for the selection of nepali players for the tournament to be held in Thailand from April 18 to April 29. Best of luck to the selected players !
