Michael Jordan Just Shrugs it Off

in #sports6 years ago

"I guess I just can't be stopped." Michael Jordan didn't actually say that, but the shoulder shrug he gave to the TV cameras sure did.

The Clyde-Drexler-led Portland Trailblazers were destined to Jordan's Bulls in the Finals, and after they both battled it out in their conferences, they finally did.

It was in Game 1 on June 3rd, 1992 that Jordan put up 35 points in the first-half, as well as six three-pointers (both NBA records at the time). After his sixth 3-ball he famously shrugged his shoulders in a move that would go down in NBA history.

That no.3 guy was Clifford Robinson

The Bulls wold go on to win the series 4-2 and would earn Jordan his second NBA Championship as well as his second NBA Finals MVP trophy.

Jordan's 35 points in the first half of an NBA Finals game was an NBA record, and has yet to be broken, his record of 6 three-pointers in a half was broken by Ray Allen in Game 2 of the 2010 NBA Finals when he knocked down seven in the first-half.

The Celtics would go on to lose that series 4-3 and would earn Kobe Bryant his fifth and final NBA Championship, as well as his second NBA Finals MVP trophy.
