Russia vs Croatia
Last night, the soccer match between Russia and Croatia took place. Both of the teams played at their best hoping to win the game so that they could make it closer to the finals. The defense was really good on both sides. In the first half, two goals were scored. One was scored by Russia and the other by Croatia. At half time the score board sat at 1-1.
During the second half of the match, two goals were scored again. The first one by the Croatians and the second by the Russians. At the end of the match, the score was 2-2. Therefore, entering the extra 30 minutes of extra time. No goals were scored in the extra time, which then led to penalties.
Russia managed to score 3 penalty goals whereas Croatia scored 4. That resulting to Croatia being the winning team. It was quite a celebration for Croatian supporters and I took forward to seeing Croatia's next game. As for Russia, it was perfect and going great for them until now. They are no longer participating in the world cup finals.
A penalty shootout is always a game of chance. Both of them played their hearts out. Anyway, I felt sorry for the Russian team because they played in their home and the disappointment in their home fans faces after the game was very saddening.
