FC Barcelona's transfer news - The effects to the current squad

I wouldn't say the board is confused or they are so anxious to win many trophies this season, but most of the transfer rumors linked to Barcelona might have a bad effect to the current squad. When a player finds out another player playing his position is being linked to his team, he won't be happy, hence forcing him to prove himself. Sometimes, it works. The player might work really hard to be a better choice ahead of the incoming player, but there are slim chances of giving him lots of opportunities to prove himself. What exactly was Barcelona's problem last season? Poor attack, midfield or defence? I'd say none! Apart from their over dependence on Messi, they aren't doing too bad. Yes, they fucked up in some matches; the second leg semi final match against Liverpool was a very awful performance, but they were still the same team that defeated Liverpool in the first leg. In fact, that was the only match they lost in the champions league. Was the team bad last season? Do they really need the players they are hoping to bring in? Or they should rather focus on the ones they have? What would the players add to the team? This and many more are questions I'm trying to answer myself. Only time will tell, I guess. Let's take a look at the current team.

First, I don't know why Ernesto Valverde is still managing the team. Barcelona doesn't really keep coaches for this long. Yes, he has been winning the Spanish league, but the team is seriously eyeing the champions league trophy again. Twice, he has been defeated shamefully. Barcelona had a 4 - 1 advantage against Roma and a 3 - 0 advantage against Liverpool under Valverde and still couldn't qualify to the next stage. They were once the king of comebacks, now other teams are ranked kings for coming back on them. Well, he's still a good coach and Barcelona is still a good team. They use the 4-3-3 formation and last season, some changes were added to the team. Linglet, Arthur and Vidal become a vital part of the team.

Now that Frenkie de Jong has arrived to the team there will be changes in the midfield. Arthur, who has been fantastic last season for Barcelona might be replaced. If the coach still prefer him, then Rakitic would be the replacement for De Jong. The Croatian is still in the team and hasn't been sold, definitely some of these midfielders will be on the bench. Alena and Rafinha are still there hoping to be in the starting eleven one day, but De Jong's appearance is killing that dream. Hopefully, he will add balance to the team, be the Xavi of Barcelona, we shall find out, won't we?

Another crazy rumor going around right now is Barcelona's agreement to sign Greizman. I've been wondering if they really need the Atletico Madrid player. He's a great player no doubt, but his best positions are Messi's best. If he plays from the right flank, Messi will play as a supporting striker. If Messi plays from the right flank, then he will be the supporting striker. We all know Messi won't be his substitute, so who will suffer it? Coutinho, Suarez or Dembele? Definitely one of these three! Suarez is getting old and his football talents is diminishing day by day; he might be the replacement because Greizman can also play as a striker. It'd be better if it happens that way, but as it looks, Coutinho or Dembele might be the replacement for Greizman, which will leave another great player on the bench. These players would eventually leave the club since they are sure of playing in the first team of another great club.

The team is also interested in Ajax defender, De Ligt. The 19 years old is being eyed by many clubs. He's still very young with great prospects. If Barcelona gets him to the team, then Linglet will leave. Of course, he's very expensive to sign right now, meeting the price will destroy every idea of placing him in the bench. Linglet performed brilliantly last season; the 24 years surprised us last season. Umtiti couldn't even play ahead of him. Signing De Ligt will put two other good defenders on the bench.

Neymar is also linked to Barcelona. Well, I want to believe all these are rumors. The team can't possibly sign all of them and have no plans of selling the ones they have. They need more than these players. Perhaps, a good motivation and inspiration to do better.
