Roy Keane the ex captain of Manchester united was never shy on attacking a bad performance. He was a box office smash on sky sports before Utd played Manchester City in a crucial 6 pointer last season. Here is some of his comments about Pogba last season. A bit of background to this video. Manchester United lost 4-0 to Everton and Pogba did an interview to Sky Sports before the city game. The video is Roy Keane's comments after he watched the Pogba interview.

Now Roy Keane does not hold back. He never has and he never will. There are many stories about him threatening players for not playing well. Busting up tactics boards and really going to town on his players when he was a manager. Just recently he had a bust up with Jonathon Walters and Harry Artur. In the latter a young squad player called Declan Rice got between the two individuals and broke them up. No wonder he changes allegiance.

So it was no surprise this week that another former player told a story about him while he was under his tutelage. Brian Murphy who joined Ipswich and used to love playing under Roy. But Roy would destroy players if they were not playing well and if the players were flash in any way then Roy would really go after them.

After one game where a 19 year old player up from London got a bit too comfortable on the ball and gave it away, Roy started talking to him after the game.

Look, I don't think you are going to make it in the game, you are not consistent enough. You will probably be back in London next year doing drive by shootings with your friends

One week you are controlling the game, the next week I can't find you on the pitch, but it's OK, I don't blame you, I blame your parents for the way you were brought up.

One day there was a drug tester at the training ground and they have to stay with the player until nature calls so he can obtain a sample and make sure it is not tampered with.
So Roy started laying into the players that didn't play so well.
Drug tester sitting in the middle of them in the dressing room.
Do you want to a footballer or do you want to collect piss for a living like that fella?
The poor drug tester was in the corner and everyone was looking at him. He didn't know what was going on.

That is Roy Keane , he is honest. Sometimes a bit too honest but nothing will change him and he is a national treasure. He is going back into management after leaving his role as assistant manager of Nottingham Forrest but it is not know yet where he will end up.

People talk about Cantona's influence at Manchester United in the 90's, but Keane was consistently superb for years and years. And then there was this side:

I don't recall exactly what Alfe said to him when he knackered his cruciate ligaments, 'cheat' or 'diver' or something. He didn't like it much anyway.

Well its fair to say he got his revenge . 😂😂. The author of his first book is a famous sports analyst in Ireland and in a recent podcast Dunphy said Keane loved Cantona because Cantona did not give a toss what anyone thought of him and he would give as good as he got. Such different people but yet they both got on great.

Did you ever read his autobiography? I went though a phase of reading football ones some years back. Fergie, Beckham and his.. they were all eye openers and all had different perspectives.

I did read it yeah. I read the updated one too. He says he doesnt have any of the players numbers. Well he has nicky butts but he was intense . A true champion. Never happy with his performance. I loved the Gary Neville book. Quite alot of insight there about Keanes intensity
