Were the Champions League Semi Finals Two of the Best Games Ever?

It was semi final week of champions league. Barcelona were 3 nil up on Liverpool from the first plane so it was practically a done deal. This was the year they had to write some wrongs.Messi told the fans that the champions league was the target for the year. Their bitter rivals Real Madrid had won 3 in a row and they had not won the champions league for 5 years. The Barcelona team walked out of the airport without a care in the world. They had lost to Roma the year before and were leading by 2. Surely three goals was a step too far. However they were going to one of the few places in the world that could shock them. And Klopps Liverpool has only one gear. Attack attack attack. They were in the final the year before when their keeper had a nightmare. Liverpool had since bought Alisson Becker to write that wrong and they had acquired the signature of the best center half in the world as well, Virgil Van Dyke. So when I heard Suarez tell the press that if he scored he would not celebrate I started to wonder if Barcelona were under estimating the task of getting a result in Anfield.
So when the game started we were under no illusions that Liverpool would go all out. And they did just that. Origi scored after just 7 minutes. They now were in with a chance. Barcelona had a couple of chances in the first 20 minutes. Messi missed a sitter. This was not going to be their night. Suarez was putting himself about giving sly kicks. He left a bad one in with Andrew Robertson and the Liverpool left back had to be substituted. Wijnaldom came on for him as Klopp tried to flood the midfield. Karma was sweet however when the substitute Wijnaldum scored 2 in the space of 2 minutes. It was 3 all. Barcelona fell asleep. They needed a leader but noone took the mantle. Then came a corner. Trent ALexander Arnold walked up to take the corner but turned around appearing to leave it off to another player. While he was walking away he noticed Origi unmarked. He quickly ran back and took the corner and Origi put Barcelona to the sword. It was the best night in Liverpool's history. Even Istanbul could not compare. This was at Anfield and this was Barcelona. It was the greatest comeback of all time and Liverpool were in the final. My team Totenham were playing in the other semi against Ajax and they were 1- 0 down on aggregate heading to Amsterdam. My post here describes last month described watching the semi final. Ajax scored two in the first have so that was the end of it. Until Spurs made changes and came out in the second half a different team. Lucas Moura was on fire and scored two great goals to get spurs back into it. 3-2. Another goal was needed with 8 minutes to go. The last kick of the game Deli Ali performed a deft touch to Moura who hit the ball first time to beat the keeper. Spurs were through to the final. The Ajax Arena was silenced. Spurs were through to the final.

Commentators could not believe what had happened over the two nights. It was unbelievable. I had the most two memorable nights of football in my life.I cannot remember a better two games although the quarter final against Manchester City was up there. I look back at that week now and still cannot believe those two results. I wonder what the double was on Spurs and Liverpool to come from behind and win. It was by far the best champions league ever. And in my opinion the best two games i have ever seen. Not only because I am a supporter but I love watching as a neutral also. Were these the best two games ever? It certainly was the two best comebacks of all time. what do you think?

I must admit I enjoyed both games and as a neutral it was fantastic to see. I love it when a team is written off and comeback to bite them. The Spurs one was in the last few seconds and was a done deal by then. The home supporters went from cheering to being deathly quiet.

I should of posted a few videos around stadium. It was so funny

For those games to be a night apart was unbelievable. Definitely two of the craziest matches I've seen for a long time.

Madness. Scenes . In the pub seeing peoples faces was priceless.

I would say I´m too young to affirm that with certainty, but those 2 games in such a short period of time and with such importance must be one of the top games in terms of emotions... That's why Football is the sport king.
