Will It Be Another One of Those Seasons for Arsenal
Arsenal set out on their pre season tour yesterday on route to LA where they will take on some American opposition to get them match fit. But their caption Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel. Koscielny wants out of Arsenal and as like Neymar he has effectively gone on strike until he gets what he wants. This is going to cause a headache for Arsenal manager Unai Emery as he is without a captain.
It is very unlike a captain of a football club especially at the top to not turn up for his side's pre season friendly. So who will Unai turn to for leadership now?? This is an interesting question. Last year he picked 5 players to captain Arsenal. Those were Peter Cech, Aaron Ramsey, our man on the picket like Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka.
So let's take a look at these guys.
So Peter Cech couldn't run fast enough back to Chelsea. He practically celebrated with Chelsea after they beat Arsenal to win the European Cup. Aaron Ramsey is now at Juventus. The biggest steal of the decade. What a signing by Juventus and to make matters worse he went on a free. What is going on at that club to leave Aaron Ramsey go on a free. Lord have mercy.
Koscielny who is now on strike is a bit homesick at the minute and he is desperate to finish his career in France. Arsenal may leave him rot on the bench but I have seen their defence against Liverpool last year and they really do need him.
That leaves Ozil and Xhaka. Two guys who are un reliable.Ozil has a good game against Burnley and everyone thinks he is great. He then disappears for the next 10 games and against top teams this guy is a liability. This is why Emery chooses not to play him in the top games. If anyone could afford to take Ozil off Arsenals hands it would be a dream come true.But noone can afford his wages. There are talks of Turkish side Fenerbache making a record bid but I don't think they can afford him.
So in summary Arsenal need to buy not just a few players but a leader that can one day take the captaincy because 3 out of the 5 captains from last year are flying the coup. I await happily with the popcorn for a whole season of arsenal TV.

Apparently, Koscielny was disappointed that Arsenal triggered a 1 year extension on his contract believing that he'd be a free agent this summer. He's already got offers from other clubs assuming that they don't have to pay a fee for him but Arsenal haven't received any offers from those same clubs in regards a transfer - what a shambles!
As for Ozil I can reckon the only clubs who would be
stupidrich enough to meet his wage demands would be in China or maybe the Middle EastThats the only way they will get him out. China. He might go as well. It is not as if he will repair the damage down on the international front
Looks like it’s surly going to be another year of heartache! Even if we could get rid of Mhki, elneny, Jenko and Iwobi to bring in Fraser, Fakier, Tierney, Dunk and Dahoud which is most likely not going to happen it still wouldn’t be enough but it would be a step in the right direction! I’d be surprised if 2 of the 5 mentioned signed and any of those muppets I mentioned leaves!

I like Emery though. He did well last year pushing Mesut closer to the door. That Stan Gazides is gone now and hes the reason for Ramsey going on a free and for Ozils extension. The bright side is that they have one of the best strikers on the world on his day. And he seems to be getting on with Lakazete
There is no leadership at Arsenal. Hasn't been since the Invincibles really. Ozil is an expensive waste of everything. I think Emery is the right manager for the job but he inherited a lot of Wengery traits and needs time to ship out the dog shit.

Totally agree with you over Emery. From a big Spurs fan from Ireland that doesn't really hate Arsenal. I way prefer them to Chelsea and Liverpool
I'd like to see how the summer transfer window shapes up. Why we let Ramsay go and not Ozil I don't know... On a free as well.

i feel like Koscielny is helping Arsenal (fans and club, not the management). When you look at the injuries history it is obvious that he can't do another year in PL, but they don't want to spend and thought that if all stars aline he would somehow do it. Now they are forced to think about replacement. i heard that he wants to buy out that year.
As for the captains, Arsenal did not have a decent one for years, if they did not fucked up with Ramsey he could maybe be one. Ozil captain :D and i would not give Xhaka a sheep drown on paper on safe keeping.
Hahah. Yeah Xhaka is as dodgy as Del Boy Trotters blow up dolls. Koscielny I feel sorry for over the last world cup. Injuried and they won it. Imagine how sickened you would be.
