For several days, the future of the San Siro stadium has been discussed, a stadium currently owned by the Municipality of Milan and shared by both the Milan team and Inter. The two companies presented a project for the redevelopment of the entire surrounding area, presenting a feasibility project.

The clubs presented a project to the technical office of the Milanese municipality for the construction of a new stadium with a maximum capacity of 60,000 seats with attached sports centers, for a total air of 127,000 square meters. In addition to this, there will be a 165,000 sqm commercial area with an attached shopping center, cinemas, restaurants, shops, museums and offices.

At the end of the works, the Giuseppe Meazza stadium will be demolished. The two Milanese sporting companies ask in exchange for the granting of a surface right for 90 years. The Municipality of Milan will now have to carefully evaluate the project that has a value of 1,200 billion dollars from the clubs, therefore an important private investment for the redevelopment of an abandoned area.

I remember that Milan won the 2026 Winter Olympics and a new stadium and a new commercial area would be a nice business card!
