Dividing Up The Pot Formula One Style

This year the Formula One Body will be forking out $1004 Million and Ferrari will be guaranteed the highest no matter where they finish. This doesn't seem fair and trust me it is confusing to who came up with this system book for payments and smacks of an old boys club over cigars and plenty of booze to come up with this system.

Bear with me as this doesn't make sense but they are all going along with it. No wonder there was a threat of a new Championship with a new governing body years ago.

The first column is an easy one as it is revenue equally divided amongst the teams gained from major sponsors and tV rights etc. The second column is the position the team finished the season before paid out on a sliding scale.

The third column is for Ferrari being involved since the 1950's and is a loyalty bonus. The next column makes me laugh as it is a Constructors Bonus that was made up in 2012 and is basically made up of how the teams performed over the previous 4 championships from 2008 -2012. This is only paid out to the top 4 teams from that time frame and is guaranteed each year no matter how they perform this season or next season.

Mc Laren and Williams haven't been doing too well of late yet they still get some nice bonuses along with Red Bull for being who they are and what they add to the sport. Mercedes despite dominating over the last few years will still receive around $28 Million this year less than Ferrari.

Does this make sense to a normal person? Not at all and it is like an old boys club living in the past. I understand having to look after the teams as without them there isn't any racing, but a fair way of dividing the pot surely must be found at some point.
