September 7, 19: Walking, Weeding in the Garden, and Heritage Day Downtown

We got out pretty early this morning, but not quite early enough to get ten thousand before ten o’clock. I’ll take the blame for that one, though...tummy is still not happy.

Very overcast and a bit chilly for my taste, but once we got going it wasn’t too bad; just a bit of drizzle here and there.

We took the straight country route...something about being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but open road ahead feels good.

A few hours later, the sun decided it had had enough rest and came out to play. I started pulling weeds out in the garden.

You see, I’m such a good weed farmer, that they won’t even give me a blue ribbon at the state fair anymore; wouldn’t be fair to the other contenders who’d never have a chance, so they created an Ultraviolet ribbon for me, so bright you can’t even see it with the naked eye, you need special goggles. That’s how awesome I am at growing weeds!

In the afternoon our town had Heritage Day...apparently, our heritage involves exotic pets! 😁
Not every day you can say “I saw a porcupine.”

And a monitor lizard!

As we left the park, the flowers were full of butterflies!! 😃

Tomorrow we plan to head out to the woods somewhere...praying it’s been cold enough to make the bugs lazy and apathetic.
