Manchester United vs Chelsea - Finally!!

This is the first pre-match preview that matters this season and unfortunately I will probably miss 3/4 if not the entire match due to a 2 hour journey back to the capital.

Anyway, after a bit of back story the line ups for Manchester United are out and I am quite pleased with it although I would have gone with Martial in the 9 rather than Rashford.

Oh, Martial has the number 9 on his back now! It is time someone showed the kid some faith like Van Gal did in that incredible season where all the journos that had doubted the lad had to eat their own words.

Andreas Perreira is finally now playing in his favourite position on the right hand side. In Jose fashion he was wasted in CDM where he could bearly create and I think the same about Pogba at the moment.

Maybe because it is a game against the top 6 that is why he has been pushed further behind because he is always targeted for man-marking which limits our creativity. Maybe it is because we failed to sign a proper CDM to sit behind him and allow Pogba to fulfill his creative potential without worrying about defensive responsibilities.

I am siding with the latter.

Looking at the Bench.

In a recent interview, when Solskjaer was asked about a new striker after Lukaku left for Inter Milan, he reiterated that Mason Greenwood would have more responsibility in the senior squad this season.

That was an incredible decision by Ole considering that Greenwood is only 17 years old, but the roll of the dice could be mitigated by the massive potential and skill of the young lad.

Right foot or left foot on both penalties and freekicks is an ability I saw last in Santi Cazola when he was at Arsenal.

Not only is he gifted with being good with both feet, he is equally gifted as a lethal and natural striker.

I am looking forward to seeing him feature later on this match along with Daniel James against a tired Chelsea defense.

Predicted Score.

You never know with this types of matches. Despite Chelsea fielding what looks like the barebones of their squad and Tammy Abraham only put in the striker role due to his height, Frank Lampard could still manage to inspire his charges tonight to a formidable win.

However, like the warm blooded red I am, I am going for a 3-1 scoreline.

This may be a transitional season but it is also possible Solskjaer might do surprisingly well and finish in the top 4.
