Michael Pineda Gets 60 Game Suspension
The Major League Baseball drug policy caught another player.

Michael Pineda of the Minnesota Twins will sit out the next 60 games after testing positive for a diuretic that is often used to mask traces of a performance enhancing drug.
The announcement comes on the heels of an appeal that was filed. The normal 80 game suspension was reduced by 20 games after the team produced a compelling case for Pineda using the substance without testing positive for a PED.
With Pineda having a resurgent season, this is poorly timed. The Twins are marching towards the playoffs and are now losing one of their best pitchers this season. Pineda was the number two man on the staff this season.
He is also a free agent after this season which does not bode well with the suspension. Pineda was set to cash in after signing a 2 year, $10 million deal after having Tommy John Surgery.
