Messi, best European goal ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo
The Barcelona player won, among others, Cristiano Ronaldo thanks to his foul goal in the semi-final leg against Liverpool.
The spectacular free-kick of Argentine striker Leo Messi, which was 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals between FC Barcelona and Liverpool, has been chosen as the best of the year in European competitions, announced Friday UEFA.

The '10' goal was the most voted ahead of another nine, including the Portuguese volley Cristiano Ronaldo in Juventus-Manchester or the shot from outside the Croatian area Ivan Rakitic in Tottenham-FC Barcelona.
Among the nominees was also the Spanish Pedro Rodríguez, author of a beautiful goal after a sensational play by Chelsea to finish off the Prague Slavia in the Europa League. The list was completed by Senegalese Ismaïla Sarr, the Portuguese Nani and Danilo, the French David Faupala and Enzo Millot, and the Czech Katerina Svitkova, thanks to a very distant shot that was imposed in a match against Bayern Munich.
