Soccer: The English Premier League

Soccer is the most famous sport today. It is enjoyed and loved throughout the world with most people as soccer fans. It is also one of the most lucrative sports and professional careers where some of the best-paid people in the world being soccer players. Of great interest in soccer is the English Premier League or EPL, or Barclays Premier League as it is commonly known. EPL is at the center of all soccer action. Players struggle to offer their best talent so that they can get a shot at playing in the EPL. The EPL brings players from all over the world who play for different clubs.

EPL is composed of 20 teams that compete for the EPL title. These teams include Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Southampton among others. These are usually the big teams whose accomplishments are well known. Most of these have won the EPL championships a couple of years. For one to play in the EPL, it is through promotion from the UEFA championships - another major league in Europe. The top 4 teams in the UEFA are promoted to the EPL series while the bottom 3 teams are relegated to championships.

The level of soccer played in the EPL is what attracts most people to love the league. There is a high level of discipline and skill that is exhibited by players in soccer. Economically, during the EPL season, a lot of money switches hands through transfers from one club to the other. It is also the season where most betting companies make most of their money. Since most people are familiar with the teams in the EPL; they are more confident making bets about the games. The EPL attracts viewership from all around the world and the companies with the rights to air the sport usually make a lot of money. The next EPL season kicks off 9th August 2019.
