The French league kicks off today and Lyon, who finished third last season, travel to take on Monaco who had a terrible season in 18/19, finishing 4th from bottom.

AS Monaco did really well two seasons ago but due to a combination of bad luck and bad management, they managed to shoot themselves in the foot again and again.

Pre-season isn't the best indicator, but Monaco have done alright, beating some big names like Porto. Both teams have a good record with opening day fixtures. Monaco haven't lost in their last 4 while Lyon last lost one 16 years ago.

Probability of clear odds are at 42% and 62% for the home and away team respectively.
